Ans17 A safety data sheet must be included in the shipment of any chemical, business
should collect and keep the SDS information together in an easily accessible format. It is
recommended that you compile a folder, with the sheets in alphabetic order. If, for some
reason a SDS is not available it is our responsibility to contact the supplier to replace the SDS
or search for a new SDS online.

Ans18
● Product name
● Contact details
● Correct storage temperature and conditions
● Flammability
● Potential hazards

Ans19 An SDS contains all of the information about a chemical, such as product name,
contact details, correct storage temperature and conditions, flammability, potential hazards,
first aid measures after accidents, fire fighting measures, accidental release measures,
appropriate personal protective equipment and properties of the chemical.

Ans 20 it is very important to think about the environmental impacts of our operations.
When creating, sharing and storing documents and files I should try to minimise the use of
printed materials and maximise electronic transmission and filing of all documents in order
to reduce waste.

● Provide as much information, instruction, training and supervision to the workers so
that they can work safely, etc NOTE- this is NOT qualified by so far as is reasonably
practicable

Ans22 No, they haven’t failed to meet the requirement of the WHS act.

Because larger businesses generally employ committees and representatives, smaller

businesses may choose to have direct, regular contact between employer and employees,
which is allowed as another agreed arrangement. In some businesses, it may not be feasible
to set up a standing WHS committee or to elect a WHS representative. For example, some
TH&E businesses employ itinerant workers in various roles. As these workers flow in and
out, it is necessary to give them the appropriate level of WHS knowledge for them to
conduct their jobs safely. In this case, WHS can be included as part of an induction process.

Ans23 yes, the employer has failed to meet their legal requirements.

Because it’s the employer’s duty to consider a WHS issue in a timely fashion. The employer
must make reasonable efforts to achieve a timely, final and effective resolution of the issue
in accordance with an agreed procedure or the default procedure set out in the WHS
regulation.
Ans24 the role of the committee or representative is the same, it is to represent the
employees and ensure that their voice is heard. A WHS committee can bring together
management and employee representative in order to work together. The committee can
form recommendations, which legally must be considered by the employer and
acted on in a timely fashion. A committee is able to review the existing WHS practices and
recommend solutions to problems they become aware of.

Part B – Implementing, monitoring, and evaluating WHS systems Your Tasks

Q 1- Brief all relevant staff before implementation to provide a refresher of the procedures
that were finalised and determined during consultation and risk assessment.
Ans- Regardless of who you are, you are required to follow all the necessary protocols
which are required by an organization to be followed to carry out operations in the workplace
which brings us to the point that every employee working in an organization are relevant to
properly take all the necessary health and safety trainings which will help the organization to
work in the safe and friendly environment carefully. There should be a clear communication
between the management and the employees, if in any case there are safety or health
issues with the employees. With this, clear set out rules about the health and safety
measures will also guide the current and new employees to carry out business operations
smoothly as new employees are being restricted from touching the machinery or
equipment’s from the safety point of view.
Q 2- Monitor each situation and ensure that any breaches are identified promptly.
Ans- To maintain the WHS system properly, identification of risk, measures to cope up with
those risks, and proper monitoring those risk identification and assessment methods are
required in the first place. For every function to work effectively and efficiently, it is very
much important to always look for the proper monitoring procedures to evaluate everything
within time and so that proper actions can take place without any problem.
With this, the role of Manager comes into the picture who will be responsible to look for the
identification of risks and should take the necessary steps to eliminate those risks within the
timeline. Moreover, Manager will be responsible to look for the proper functioning of the
measurable procedures because this will result in elimination of risks within the given time
frame and with proper actions too.
Q 3- Use relevant templates or a log to document progress and incidents for each situation.
Ans- 1) Sheets to assess and measure the risk involved- These are the sheets which helps
in recording the procedures and methods which an organization uses to measure the risk
involved. These documents help in analysing the nature and types of risk which a business
may or may not incur. These documents are required to be kept handy which can be further
used by the employees and the management when there is a need to cross check the
interrogation.
2) Safety Data Sheet- This sheet is mandatory for those who are dealing with chemical
business. thus, businesses are required to maintain proper folders for the same.
Q 4- Take appropriate actions to prevent any potential incidents, accidents, or other hazards
where a safety risk has been identified.
Ans- After accessing the risk, should take proper actions to minimize and eradicate the
risks. With this, the businesses should plan for the detailed documentation citing the risk
involved and the possible course of actions against those risks. This is a necessary step
because this will decide the efficiency and effectiveness of the decision and planning making
capacity of the business and organization.
Q 5- Document each breach or shortfall you identify for each instance.
Ans- The business should look for the proper records of any mishappening or instance
which may occur out of blue because this will help in keeping the tracks and order and will
also help in forming the proper decisions against those cases so that it might not happen in
future. The records of accidents and incidents will help in taking the necessary steps to
eliminate such risks in future. With these, these documents will act as a proof and will also
help in cross-checking the facts and interrogation if needed.
Q 6- Write a report summary for each situation and clearly outline the requirements for
changes for each procedure based on the results in 4 and which type of training this will
require as a result for each situation.
Ans- The report talks about the importance of communication about the employees and the
management which will decide that whether the protocols are being followed or not. And for
this there should be:
1) Proper identification of risks or hazards involved, and proper monitoring of the steps
being taken.
2) Identification of risks and problems which may arise and should be ready with all the
possible course of actions to cope up with the same.
3) Proper documentation should be kept of evidence and proofs of the accidents and
incidents which might had happened.
4) The concerned parties are also responsible to notify when the issue is resolved to all
the concerned persons and parties involved.
Q 7- Attach your completed templates or log as relevant.
Ans- Sign-off sheets are the most important from the point of view of keeping the reports of
those incidents which are agreed up on. These will also help in keeping the creativity intact
and will also help in keeping each report and document symmetrically.
Q 8- Attach your final summary report.
Ans- The report talks about the relevance of having the clear communication between the
employees and the management about the protocols regarding the work health and safety of
the employees working in an organization because this will help in increasing the efficiency
of an organization. For the proper functionality even the contractors and the visitors are also
required to be well informed with all the necessary protocols which are required to be
followed because this will prevent the event of any mishappening, and the organization can
maintain a safe and secured environment for everyone including the employees and the
visitors.
