ACTIVITIES CONTENT AND METHODOLOGY AIDS

Starter Children would be sitting on a mat in a circle
Teacher will initiate a discussion on how an important part each of
the children play in being responsible for nature.
- Does our nature takes care of otself or do we also have to
help it grow and become better...?
- Then she asks do you think you agree with me?
- If we collectively as a group do not take this responsibility
seriously the nature can come tumbling down.

She would then say – ‘Lets all do one activity to help everyone
understand how we take part in taking care of the nature.

Point of interest- A new activity would interest the children which would involve
everyone being responsible for a common things.
Activity The teacher would hold one end of the yarn, call out the name of a Big yarn ball for
child, and toss him the ball of yarn with her other hand. The child has the teacher
to catch the ball of yarn and (optional – Say any one simple fact about
nature e.g- Trees are green, frogs croak, sun is hot, apples grow on
trees…etc ) then pass on the ball to any person of their choice. After
the ball has gone to everyone the circle would look something like
this picture.

Now , she would tell them this interwoven criss cross yarn is our
planet/our environment and see how it is holding up since noneof
you are letting the yarn let go from your hand and you are all being so
responsibe. However if for example One 3 children let it go (then she
instructs three children to leave the end of the yarn they are holding)
she this web collapse.
After observing this the children can pick up their part of the yarn
again and the same thing would be repeated with another set of kids
till all have experienced it as well.

Wind-up- Teacher would tell them about what a pledge is –

3

It’s a small promise that you make to yourself and it can be about
anything but you have to make sure if you have made this promise
you always have to keep it.

Everyone will get ready for this pledge which the teacher will read out
and then explain as well-

I pledge / promise to care for Earth with my hands,

I Promise to take care of my green lands
I will always save water
And save my Planet from getting hotter!
