    I. Objectives

    At the end of the lesson, the pupils will able to:

     Define 'hygiene'
     Understand how to have good personal hygiene.
     Learn and practice how to wash their hands properly.

     Understand that being clean is important to our health.

     Name and identify the things needed in washing their hands.

    o How can germs get into our
    bodies?
    o What happens if germs get
    into our bodies?
     Label the chart paper 'Tips for Good
    Personal Hygiene' and have
    students brainstorm a list of good
    hygiene with their partners.
     Now read the 'Tips for Good
    Personal Hygiene' section with
    students, listing each tip on the
    chart paper with a brief explanation.
    Discuss:
    o When should we wash our
    hands?
    o Why do we need to wear
    clean clothes?
    o What are the benefits of
    brushing our teeth?
    o How often should we brush
    and floss our teeth?
     Allow students to share other
    personal hygiene tips they
    discussed that weren't mentioned
    and list them on the chart paper, if
    appropriate.
     Read the 'Lesson Summary' with
    students then take the quiz as a
    whole group to reinforce teaching.
     Explain how to wash hands
    properly.
     Give them time to identify what are
    the things needed in washing hands
    properly.
     Show them the picture cards of
    things needed in washing hands
    properly.

    D. Generalization
    Students will complete various
    projects/worksheets to display their
    understanding of the key concepts
    introduced in the lesson.
