About the Event:

The round 2 of Best Manager competition will begin sharply at 3.30 PM on 16th of July. The case
study has been given to you in a PDF format, have a thorough discussion about the case with your
team mates (mentioned in the excel sheet attached with this mail) and apply the concept of “6
Thinking Hats” on the day of event for your discussion.
What is six thinking hat model???
The Six Thinking Hats is a role-playing model and it serves as a team-based problem

solving and brainstorming technique that can be used to explore problems and solutions and uncover
ideas and options. Each of the 6 hat represent one characteristic in the discussion.
Edward Charles Francis Publius de Bono was a Maltese physician, psychologist, author, inventor,
philosopher, and consultant. He originated the term lateral thinking, wrote the book Six Thinking
Hats, and was a proponent of the teaching of thinking as a subject in schools
How to prepare:
 Once you get this mail, form the group as mentioned in the excel and decide upon the hat
colour each member is going to represent. Do some research on the colour you have chosen
for a better understanding of the concept and discuss with your team on how you are going to
present for the event.
 The contact details are mentioned in excel so each team can make their own Whats App
groups to communicate and make proper detailing of the discussion.
 Good preparation and mock discussion might give an advantage at the day of the event.
 Teams can also represent their hat colours in unique ways like wearing a red shirt for a red
hat representation or in any other decent and legitimate ways.
On the day of the Event:

 Request all the team to be ready by 3.30 pm sharp.
 Each team has been given a time slot as mentioned in the excel sheet provided.
 Each team has to follow the order sequence and join accordingly as per the time slot of your
respective team as mentioned.
 Each team has to join 2 minutes prior to your time slot. You will be given 10 minutes in total
to represent as a team. Each team can divide the time among yourself and use it wisely.
 The team has to make sure that each of your team members has joined the meet at the
respective time slot, any delay or absence from the discussion on the event date, disqualifies
the team entirely.
 Duration of 10 minutes will be given to each team for your discussion and sound conclusion.
It should be presented in the following order of hat colours only.
1) Blue 2) Green 3) Yellow 4) Black 5) White 6) Red
Rules:
 Participants are required to thoroughly read and discuss the case before joining the event.
 42 participants have been divided in groups of 6 making total of 7 teams.
 Each participant is required to have a pre discussion related to the case with their respective
team mates, ensuring each participant represents one single hat colour.
 The time allotted for discussion to each team is 10 minutes. Any extra minute will be a major
drawback for the team.
 Each team will be notified 3 mins prior the joining time in the WhatsApp group.
 Participants will be evaluated individually on the basis of communication skills, topic
knowledge, in depth analysis and how well they have represented the case in perspective of
the hat colour.
 Come out of the bubble, think out of the box, be creative and experiment your ideas.
 All the team members should be present during their respective time slot, if otherwise team
will be disqualified.
 The discussion has to be completely in English and should be kept utmost formal. No
arguments or filthy language is encouraged during discussion.
 Even though marks are given individually, every team will also be noted for their team
performance.
