    COMPLIMENTING AND CONGRATULATING OTHERS

    Complimenting= praising
    Kita bisa memuji seseorang karena
    beberapa aspect/ sebab:
     Performance : berkaitan dengan skills/ keterampilan seseorang

     Appearance : berkaitan dengan penampilan seseorang

     Personality: berkaitan dengan sikap/ tingkah laku seseorang

     Possessions : berkaitan dengan kekayaan/ harta seseorang,


    termasuk didalamnya adalah pujian kepada anak/ anggota
    keluarga lainnya.
    Ungkapkan kata-kata pujian dengan memilih
    kata sifat yang bermakna positif.
    Ex: beautiful, handsome, cute, great, etc

    Jika ingin menambah kesan pada kata pujian


    yang akan digunakan, bisa menggunakan ta
    mbahan kata: so, really, atau very (sangat) di
    depan kata sifat.
    Ex: You’re so beautiful!
    It’s a really nice café.
    If you would like to compliment/ praise so-
    meone based on his/her Performance:
    • Wow!
    • Fantastic!
    • Well done!
    • Good job!
    • That’s great!
    • You’re doing great!
    • You’ve done a great job!
    • You’re an excellent student.

    If you would like to compliment/ praise
    someone based on his/her appearance:
    • You look beautiful
    • You look amazing
    • I love your dress. It’s so cute.
    • What a nice smile you have.
    • What a lovely dress!
    • Where did you get your t-shirt? It’s fabulous!
    • Great bag you have.
    If you would like to compliment/ praise so-
    meone based on his/her Personality:
    • What a brave person you are!
    • What a hard-working man!
    • What an honest girl!
    • You’re such a beautiful soul
    • You’re cute.
    • Your kindness is so amazing!
    • You have a great sense of humor!
    If you would like to compliment/ praise so-
    meone based on his/her Possessions:
    • What a lovely house!
    • That’s a really beautiful house!
    • What a wonderful gift!
    • What a nice present!
    • You have a great mother!
    • Your kid is so diligent!
    Rumus penggunaan What a/ an….
    What + a / an + adjective + noun
    A diikuti dengan adjective berawalan huruf mati
    - What a handsome man
    - What a big house

    An diikuti dengan adjective berawalan huruf vokal (a,i,u,e,o)


    - What an amazing performance!
    - What an awesome camping experience!

    Ingat!!!
    Noun yang digunakan berupa tunggal. Tanpa tambahan s/es diakhir noun-nya.
    Wrong example: what a cute cats
    Right example: What a cute cat

    *adjective: kata sifat


    *noun: kata benda
