company's revenue grew to PHP 200 million in 2003. It was in 2006 when the company achieved
its first billion in sales. In 2012, the company's revenue rose to as high as PHP2.2 billion paving

less privileged residents of Metro Manila, as part of the company's 16th anniversary. This event
was also the launching of a new business segment of Calata Corporation's meat business.
Objectives
Joseph Calata told reporters the joint venture with the Australian technology firm can
revolutionize the country’s agriculture sector through the systems and technologies to be
introduced to farmers all over the Philippines.
“We are excited that we can help farmers be more efficient in the way they do things in
farming. This can bring great impact on the income that farmers generate,” Calata said.
He added that this is the first privately led initiative to institute data-driven farming on a
nationwide scale.
“Calata now aims to lead the Philippine agricultural sector into the ‘Agricultural Internet

know that there are still instances that I do know but I am also willing to learn new
things. Since you were never truly prepared for entrepreneurship. And no matter how
much you plan to be one - taking classes, learning from others, joining a startup,
joining wander support - you’re still aiming to realize how ill-equipped once you
begin a trade. And sometimes obliviousness is rapture. If I had to define when
somebody is truly ready for the enterprise, it’s when they don’t have time to think if
they’re prepared or not whereas building commerce.
