ACTION RESEARCH
I. Situation : Difficulty in problem solving of some Grade II- pupils of Section Indium
in Mathematics in Potenciano A. Abejero Elementary School.
II. Problem : Why are some Grade II pupils of Section Indium have difficulty in
Mathematics Problem solving?
V. Probable Solutions:
Enhance pupils’ interests in understanding concepts and steps in problem
solving.
Enhance pupils’ reading comprehension.
Memorize table of multiplication.
Provide appropriate and interesting Math activities involving the four
fundamental operations.
Encourage parents to have an extra time to follow-up their children at
home.
Conduct intensive remedial instruction in problem solving and reading
comprehension.
VI. Prioritized Probable Solutions:
Conduct remedial class in Mathematics particularly in problem solving.
Enhance pupils’ interest in understanding concepts and steps in problem
solving.

X. Conclusion
Action done was effective for they have improved their problem solving
skills in Mathematics.
XI. Reflection
Mathematics provides necessary concepts and life skills needed by every
learner as he/she proceeds to the next stage of his/her life. It is indeed, a need
that learners must be enhanced in their understanding of the basic concepts and
principles in Mathematics using problem solving.
