Technology Standard Addressed: ISTE-E-7b USe tech to design and implement a variety of
formative and summative assessments that accommodate learners needs, provides timely
feedback to students, and inform instruction.
Type of session:
☐ !!!Teacher-led (Live) ☐ Student-Paced
Describe the instructional activities that will occur PRIOR to the SRT activity and how you
will introduce the SRT activity. Before the SRT the students will go through a power point of
the history of line dancing. They will see the different types and of line dances and they will
also learn a dance.
Describe the purpose of the SRT activity (check all that apply):
☐ Assess prior knowledge ☐ Anticipatory set (Create interest in a topic) ☐ To illuminate
common misconceptions ☐ Formative assessment of content knowledge (for purpose of
differentiation and mastery for ALL students) ☐ !!!!Summative assessment of content
knowledge ☐ Test preparation
☐ Survey/Poll ☐ Discussion starter ☐ “Homework” collection ☐ Other (please explain):
Briefly describe what will happen DURING the SRT activity: (What will the students do?
What will the teacher do? What materials are needed? How long with the activity last?)
The students are to go through a lesson using powerpoint on the history of line dancing. They
will start the lesson with a dynamic warm up before the powerpoint starts. They will cover the
cultures that line dancing is involved in but they will will see a line dance presented to them.

Student Response and Assessment Tools
If you are unable to provide a working sample of your questions, please list them below
(8-10 questions required):
What can line dancing do for you?
How can this help you connect with others?
Has line dancing been popular for a long time? why? Where?
Can you get injured line dancing?
Can you line dance with a group of people?
Line dancing covers many different cultures around the world
What are the steps called in the dance?
Describe a Wall.
Can you line dance for a long time in life?
Will you be able to use this after our lesson?
Right/Wrong answers: Will there be right/wrong answers to these
questions? ☐ !!Yes ☐ No
☐ Mixed (Some will have correct answers, other will not.)
Immediate corrective feedback: Will you pre-select correct answers to some of all of
the questions and display correct response to the class after the SRT activity?
☐ Yes
☐ !No
Why or why not? I am not going to plan on this because we are using this before our last lesson so
I still have more questions for them.
How will the data be used? What data will be collected as a result of this activity? How will it
be used and by whom? (For example: Will information collected from this activity be used to
award a grade? Will the individual collected be shared with students and/or parents to help
them monitor individual progress? Will you discuss the aggregate, anonymous data with the
whole class to help them learn? Will you use data to differentiate instruction for students, if so
describe how.) The data will be taken to see the progress of the students. This will help me see
where i need to go back over and really learn again.
Describe your personal learning goal for this activity. The goal of this lesson is for the students
to understand the history of line dancing and how it is used in different cultures but to also
learn to have fun/be confident while dancing with the class even if you are not that good at the
dancing itself.
Reflective Practice: I think the lesson idea impacts student learning in such a strong way.
To extend the lesson I could have had them learn the steps of the line dance and turn it in
as an assessment.
