reason, gathering necessary skills in the academic life is highly significant for any student
and also planning for the desirable occupation is also significant. This report is a detailed
analysis of personal skill and experience in the context of an employment field. This report
also analysis career development plan. In the appendix part a CV and E-Portfolio has been
developed also.
Task 1
Personal analysis
It is a common trait of the human being to try to look good. This effort of looking good is
significant for both personal satisfaction or even can be to impress or attract others.
Whatever the cause the significance of looking good can not be neglected in our day to day
life. So, there is always a need of looking good and people to make other people look
good. This has opened the path for the beauty industry and in this modern age of human
civilization, the need for the beauty industry has been more than ever (Carvalho, 2016).
There are several students around the world who have been studying to be a beauty
therapist as a professional goal for themselves. I am one of the many who have chosen this
unorthodox career path for myself. Let’s do an analysis of my career plan, skills and areas
of improvement-
I had worked as a Beautician in the Beauty Saloon in Romania for 1 year (September
2006- October 2007). I was responsible for the overall management of the operational
activity of the business and I also looked after the business process management of the
saloon (Klimoski, 2012). My responsibility was not only limited to the managerial aspect
rather I also worked at the ground level like conveying beauty products to the staff as per
the customer’s demand. For the time I worked in Beauty Saloon I had operated full time as
a saloon operator and a beauty therapist.
I had also worked in another salon in Romania named New Look Beauty Saloon as a
Beautician, Hairdresser, Manicurist, Pedicurist. I had worked as a full-time beauty
therapist there. I was responsible for providing beauty treatment to the customer as per
their demand; beauty therapy, hair treatment, pedicure. My key concern of manicure and
pedicure and also maintaining customer satisfaction. I also worked as a cashier and for
some instance in a managerial role there.
I have a business degree and also done a foundation course in beauty therapy where I have
learned all the necessary aspects of beauty treatment. I consist the necessary skill set to be
in the beauty industry and work as a beauty therapist (KOGATKO, 2018). I am an active
listener. I can listen to people problem and give them the appropriate suggestion for
making themselves more beautiful. I have a natural trait of sympathy for the people in
distress and I try to be a kind human being to provide them with an appropriate suggestion
as condolences.
Apart from my vast level of experience and academic background of the skill set I still feel
that there are several areas for me to improve as a beauty therapist.
Till then through the amount of practice, I have been able to execute I have not been able
to express a significant amount of creativity. So, I am highly interested in giving more
effort to develop the artistic flair inside me. The beauty industry is a live canvas where I
can portray my creativity on the living flesh. There are very few industries that are able to
give such a tremendous level of opportunity of creative freedom to a person. I am highly
excited to be a part of such an industry and increase the creative trait inside me.
These all have been my persona career analysis. I have upheld the experience and skillsets
of mines as a strong factor. Also, I have several areas of improvement; build a professional
relationship, and increase the creative foresight of mine.
Task 2
Career action plan
Career action plan is a guideline for a person who has just started to think about his or her
professional career or the person who has started in the professional field and wants to
make further development of the career through personal development. The career action
plan provides with a detailed and highly critical roadmap for an individual to follow. The
career action plan helps to sort a SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic,
Time-bound) goal for the individual (Gould, 2017). For this reason, for the new entrants
the career action plan helps to get the stress out by mapping in an efficient way of what do
