Mba Marketing Reflective Essay
Marketing Design Innovation (MDI) module. This reflective essay seeks to; (i) Highlight the
most important learning points I take away from the module; (ii) Articulate how these insights
impact my approach & understanding of business issues as they relate to my current
organization, and finally; (iii) Document specific actions that I will take to apply my new MDI
knowledge to deliver greater value to my organization.
My purpose for first attending this institution to pursue a MBA in Business Management is one
of self-development and enhancement of career opportunities.
Completing the Marketing Design and Innovation module and assignment has created a great
learning channel for me on several levels. The module contents, effective teaching style of the
tutor, adequate materials and individual learning efforts, have played an influential role in
assisting me to understand that product design needs to be perceived as an integral component of
new product development efforts and design needs to be based on appropriate integration of
simplicity and convenience. This module opened an in-depth knowledge about the main features
of product and service design from marketing viewpoint, in both theoretical, as well as, practical
levels.
I learned about the importance of branding from practical and theoretical viewpoints.
Additionally, I learned about the potential contribution of effective product design and
innovation in products design and its key features in successful branding and marketing of any
product.
My experience in MDI has introduced a belief that co-creation can be an extremely effective
strategy in helping to improve employee engagement and that the need for marketers to unlock
the latent potential of the organizations workforce in the pursuit of their, and the organizations
objectives, is absolutely critical. This view is supported by Aarons & Driest (2014) who assert:
Marketing has become too important to be left just to the marketers. All employees, from store
clerks to IT specialists, must be engaged in it
