INTRODUCTION:
At ABC, HRD is a family that shares stress and success in addition to professionalism where
each member has a deep concern, feeling and pride for his or her own organization. HR is
maintaining an effective way of dealing with labors and no instability has yet been recorded as a
dispute. The staff working here are taking care of ABC as if it were their own family. In this
assignment I will discuss the good and poor HRM practices of ABC Company with analytical
recommendation.
RECRUITMENT:
ABC believes in the growth of the company by increasing the skill level of the employees. So
effective planning and recruitment is very much needed for the Human Resources Department
(HRM) of this company. Recruitment follows the HR plan and works closely with the selection
process by which the agency evaluates the suitability of candidates for various jobs.
The company recruits people from external sources at all levels. For executive positions, skilled,
experienced and reputed employees are hired form the outside.
The good practice is that, recruitment committee can work freely without any interruption in this
company.
For proper and effective training and development program ABC has a separate unit under
Human Resource Management department which is called Training and Development Wing. A
manager is the head of this wing. The main task of this unit is to train and development of the
employee.
EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT:
In ABC Company managers are responsible for supervising the employees and create a
participative culture where people feel them valued.

PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL:
In ABC company managers are also responsible for assessing the performance of the individual
and also for conveying the feedback to the management.
DISCIPLINE MAINTAINING:
ABC Company is maintaining discipline within the work place to ensure the healthy as well as a
secure work environment and also ensure easy implementation of the HR policies and the
procedures.
COMPENSATION MANAGEMENT:
DEVELOPING EMPLOYEES:
In ABC Company, employee development needs are assessed and addressed. For example,
development means enhancing performance through training, introducing new skills or higher
levels of responsibility, improving work processes or assigning other methods.
Employees need a suitable environment for performing well. Not only the tools but also good
attitudes of surrounding persons are also required to be good working environment. ABC keeps
its employee always equipped. There is a healthy relationship between employee exists. ABC
company do not allow any misbehave and corporate politics.

EMPLOYEE MOTIVATION:
ABC offers lifestyle such as work life balance (just time no complain), different types of
incentives, performance bonus, special bonus, birthday celebration, family gift, and family day
.etc. Which make the employees feel better and perform hard for the organization.
Like other large companies in Bangladesh, ABC also offers benefits to their employees in
addition to their paid salaries. Those benefits are:
Discount on Products and Services: ABC Company also provides its employees with discounts
on their products. They provide 50% in product which is unlimited. For example if an employee
buys 1000tk amount of medicine he or she has to pay 500tk only.
Life Insurance: ABC understand the importance the life of their employees. That’s why they
provide each of its employees with life insurance coverage.
Free Lunch: ABC provide its employees with free lunch for each of its employees. Employees
do not need to pay for this free lunch. They get this free from Square group.
Festival Bonus: There are two festival bonuses in a year. Each bonus is equivalent to the basic.
An employee is entitled to get the full festival bonus after completing one year of service. If an
employee has not completed minimum six months or more than six months, he will be given a
bonus on a pro-rata basis for the period completed.
Provident Fund: There are provisions of provident fund. It secures a tension free post
retirement life. It creates savings for the employees. Every month 5% of the basic salary will be
deposited in provident fund account. The company will deposit equal amount of money
deposited by the employee. The employee will get PF at the end of service with the company.

Education Sponsorship: There is provision of education sponsorship. If an employee wants to
get a professional degree in order to develop his career and the company considers justified then
the company will bear the expenses of his education.
Vacation/Holiday Benefits: It is another top priority benefit among the employees. It provides
time for rest and recreation that result in better performance and job satisfaction. In ABC there is
provision of five type of leave.
a) Casual Leave: The employees are entitled to casual leave with full pay for ten days in a year.
b) Sick Leave: The employees are entitled to sick leave with full wages for a total period of
fourteen days in a year. Sick leave can be carried forward not exceeding twenty-eight days.
c) Annual Leave: Employees who have completed a period of (12) twelve months continuous
service shall be allowed during the subsequent period of twelve months leave for twenty days
with full wages.
d) Maternity Leave: A female employee who has completed a minimum of nine months service
shall be entitled to enjoy sixteen weeks maternity leave with pay. Maternity leave will be
admissible for six weeks before and six weeks after the date of delivery.
EXIT INTERVIEWS:
ABC practices it to find out the reasons of leaving, employee feelings about the company.
Management go through the interview report and takes initiative for future development to
minimize resignation rate.
ABC management just anticipate the requirement of required people. They are not doing any
plan regarding recruitment.
Recommendation: ABC Company should focus on Human resource planning as it is very vital
for the organization to determine the number of people required and justify the related cost. It

helps to identify the processes as well as the procedures which are essential for maximizing the
performances of the human resources.
ABC Company could not focus on job designing properly and employees can easily perform
their task. Employees are not receiving fair treatment, recognition and overall quality supervision
from top level.
Recommendation: ABC Company may focus on above issue. Because it makes work enjoyable
and increase productivity.
This organization have not yet developed any formal or institutionalized pay structure for their
employees. Usually the head of the organization decides the salary of the managerial employees
after discussing the jobs with departmental heads. Non-managerial employees’ pay structure is
determined through bargaining.
Job grades in ABC Company depend on individual employee competencies and bargaining with
management, but there is no link to employee pay and fringe benefits.
Recommendation: ABC Company may focus on pay structuring. So that employees can
compete with competitor and they can get equal salary for same position.
ABC Company has limited opportunities for career development. Today’s employees are not
looking only for salary. They are very concern about their career.
Recommendation: ABC Company may invest in employee growth and development. They
should make a clear cut career advancement path.
INEFFECTIVE ONBOARDING:
ABC is neglecting fundamentals in the onboarding process. The results are low employee
morale, low level of employee engagement, low confidence in employees, lack of confidence in
the organization.

ABC Company could not create such an environment where employees feel good and valued.
Recommendation: ABC Company should create an environment where employees feel like
they belong. Where people feel safe, valued, happy and respected on the job.
CONCLUSION:
ABC believes in sharing & caring with employees. In a short time it has introduced a bucket of
benefits and facilities. To motivate the employees, along with salary and benefits the company
provides various facilities like free meals, free medical expenses, on site sports, yearly picnic.
Employee quarter and accommodation facilities .etc. in other hand there are huge scopes of
improvement as discussed earlier. Management of ABC are very supportive but they have very
little focuses on HRM process.
