the new kid in the first grade. I remember being super nervous that day. I was all nervous
walking into a door I wasn’t supposed to walk in. I was supposed to be dropped off on the other
side of the school. The first-grade teachers were nice and welcoming. They ended up pointing
me in the right direction. Mrs. Gaviola's class was the best. That’s how I started out my time in
Parma.
Mrs. Gaviola was the best teacher to welcome me to a new school. She’s one of my
teachers that pushed me towards being a teacher. She was a good influence and was always there
My seventh grade English teacher had a large impact on me. I loved being in her class
and aiding for her was amazing. She helped me realize that I wanted to teach English in the
future. Mrs. Henderson was the reason I decided to go towards English. I always was asked
what’s your favorite subject and why? I would always just say English but never have a reason
I’m still in my high school years. It's difficult to talk about the full high school experience
since I haven't finished high school. My freshman year is like every other year. I started out
nervous about high school, but it went well. My sophomore year was a bit more difficult. That’s
when I started my journey for my Associates. I had some problems with one of my teachers. I
went home crying twice because of them. My junior year hasn’t started out the best. A lot of
stuff has happened in the first two weeks of school. My school is slowly moving past what
to go to CWI so I could work on my Associates. It's a huge goal for me right now. I am getting
close to deciding what college I want to attend. I have thought about multiple schools. The two
I’ve always been friends with all my teachers. That helped spark the wanting to be a
teacher. All my teachers have let me help with grading papers and all that. I aided for my middle
school English teacher during my eighth-grade year. It was a good time. She let me do a lot. That
helped make me want to pursue teaching. She treated me like I was an assistant teacher. I was
helping with the class and she let me do things in the classroom with the students. I loved being
My past teachers have all had an influence on me whether it’s good or bad. I try to
remember specific stuff I liked about the class so that maybe I could try them out in my future
class one day. My physical science teacher picks groups and all that with notecards with names
on them. That’s the type of stuff I want to take into my future classrooms.
I am involved in my Junior Student Council. I am the historian. I don’t have that much
for a job, but I enjoy being able to help my class. With that job I like being able to help with how
everything is planned and organized for the class. I am also involved in a leadership class. This
class is helping me be able to take charge. I get to plan items in our year’s agenda. I just took on
a big project and I’m happy I did. Leo’s Club is another thing I’m involved in that I’ve been able
These activities have made me want to give back to the community. Volunteering at the
sunshine cupboard has made me want to do more for the community. Being in the student
council I’m able to be there for my peers and I like that. It’s the same with the leadership. I enjoy
knowing my peers know that they can come to me. That’s the stuff that makes me want to be
a teacher.
With these activities, it makes my teachers trust me more. A couple teachers have let me
watch the classroom. One of my teachers has had me take over our book talks since I was ahead.
This has all made me want to be a teacher. Being able to help and make a change has made me
want to be a teacher.
My ethical situation happened during a class meeting this past Monday. I am part of the
class officers, so I was writing names down for a nomination. Someone was shouting out a name,
but my teacher was not going to have me list the name since they were not doing what we
wanted by raising hands and being polite. That student had an outburst which led them to
Looking through the Virtue Ethics lens, it was not ethical of them to shout out the name
constantly or to say the words this student did when they stormed out. They let out their anger
instead of being levelheaded. It was not very ethical for me and my teacher to ignore the student
like that. A good ethical decision was most likely the student leaving the room to calm down.
The next lens I’m going to look through is Utilitarianism. My teacher and I thought we
were doing right. We were trying to spread a good feeling in the room, but that did not happen.
The student did not think of the negative consequences. The student left a choice that had a
I should be a teacher because I’m passionate. I want students to learn. I want to be a part
of that process. I think being a teacher is an incredible role. Teachers help the world by teaching
the standard knowledge. I want to help the upcoming generations by teaching English. I find this
people to learn. I do have great communication skills. I have been able to portray subjects in a
way that other people can understand it. I help my peers when they need it. I try to find ways that
they will understand it. I find it important to have the student understand the material. I’m always
open to learning more. Even as teachers you still are learning about new studies and new
One thing I think of is conflict resolution to be in the education field. You need to be able
to work out conflicts between students or teachers. I believe I have that skill. I have creativity
which could be important. After a few art classes, I have a way to tap into my creativity for
projects. Patience is a skill you would need in the education field. I am working on my patience.
One job I have skills for is being a guide in Alaska. The skills I have is being patient
when it comes to fishing. I can navigate the river. It is difficult to row on the river. You have to
have the strength to avoid rocks and paddle against the current. It is a lot of work.
Being passionate is a skill I could spread everywhere. Creativity also can be used for
different fields. I am compassionate so that helps me in every career field. Communication skills
are important for every career. You need to have communication skills so you can communicate
education. I’m really interested in minoring in art. I’m not sure what art I would be minoring in.
All I know is I want a minor in art. I haven’t gone that far yet. I know I am going to go to
college. The way I achieve that is working hard. I plan on earning a lot of scholarships if
possible. I want to pass this school year with flying colors. I am also aiming for my Associates
before I graduate high school which would be next year. I believe I can do it.
I have several colleges in mind. My top school is most likely University of Idaho. I really
love their campus. I have been in conversation with advisors at U of I about what I need to do in
high school. Another college I’m interested in is University of Nevada, Las Vegas. I do love
their campus. I haven’t spoke much with any one on that campus. My aunt and uncle live in
Vegas so that is a draw to. Those are the two colleges I am interested in.
One of my short-term goals is to make it through this fall semester. I am taking a lot of
classes and I am wanting to make it through this semester with all A’s. I am also hoping I get
organized more than I am now. I am quite a mess with due dates and where everything is. The
goal that is consisting within ten days would be to write my paper for National Honors Society. I
Making it through this semester would help me pass with flying colors and getting closer
to my Associates. The more classes I can get done and pass the faster I am to my degree. Writing
my paper would help me with more opportunities to more scholarships. I want to do good in
school so I can get most of my college schooling paid for with scholarships. Getting organized
