    EVENT DESCRIPTION

    Cultural Event

    Brief History

    The Ala - Eh Festival has been held annually in the province of Batangas for the
    past five (5) years for the celebration of the province’s foundation.
    The Ala - Eh Festival is hosting on different cities around Batangas City. Last 2012,
    the 5th Ala-Eh Festival is hosted by the City of Colors --- Tanauan City which lasted
    for 8 days from December 1-8 last 2012. Tanauan City takes over the hosting
    mantle from the municipality of Calaca, the host of the successful festival held last
    2011.
    Last year’s theme of the Ala-Eh Festival, “May Sasaya Pa Ga?” echoes the yearly
    Christmas celebration of Batangas City, this year’s host of the province wide
    celebration.
    The Ala-Eh Festival is known to be the most colorful and grandiose celebration of
    the province of Batangas which celebrates the Founding of the Province on
    December 8. The Festival of Festivals of each city and municipality had its
    launching in 2008 by the Provincial Government as its first host. In 2010, Ala-Eh
    Festival was hosted by the city government of Lipa followed by Calaca in 2011,
    Tanuan in 2012 and now, Batangas City.

    SWOT ANALYSIS
    S- The strength of this festival is; the province of
    Batangas will be well-known after this event due to the
    commemoration of this foundation; the event will last
    longer due to better performance and coordination of
    the organizers and the creative and wonderful
    celebration of the event.

    W- The weak points of this festival are; lack of


    coordination, lack of organization and poor management
    of the said event.

    O- The opportunities of this festival are; it will put the


    Batangueños to bond together and to work as one. It will
    attract some tourists to visit and stay in our province and
    it will let people to experience the fun inside our
    province. Lastly, it will be an added knowledge for young
    kids about the cultural events happening in our province.

    T- Threats for this festival is not avoidable such as power


    failure, bad weather due to climate change and the
    overcrowding of people due to an unorganized event.
