Reinforcement Package
Dear KG2 Parents,
"

This optional reinforcement package is for your child to revise reading, writing, spelling, phonics, written
expression, handwriting and oral language.
"
Reading:
Children need to be able to read all 12 sight words from trimester one:
"
I the a

"
is it and
"
like am an
"
to he come
"
Please read the examples on each sight word page, write sentences using sight words and. draw
pictures for each one.
Please be reminded, trial spelling is encouraged. Spelling does not have to be correct as long as your child is
listening to the sounds and writing them down.
"
Written Expression:
It is important to start at the correct point, write in the correct direction, use finger spaces, use creative ideas,
attempt to write letters and sounds they hear in words, draw a picture for their written piece and follow
instructions when completing this package.
"
Phonics:
Children need to know letter names and sounds. Please say the word and write down the initial letter sound
on the phonics page.
"
Handwriting:
When completing writing activities, children are encouraged to write within the correct lines, be aware of the
shape, size and formation of the letters and the general neatness of their handwriting.
"
Oral Language:
Please look at the pictures of the park, the animals, the family and the beach and discuss. It is important
your child can describe each scene and answer questions.
"
Thank you,
