The Moderna vaccine data shows even higher rates of serious side effects than the
Pfizer data. The second dose is the problem - almost 1 in 5 people under 65 had a grade 3 or 4
adverse event after receiving it, compared to 1 in 50 who received placebo. Fevers are of particular
note: 1.6% of people under 65 spiked fevers over 102 after the second dose, and about 1 in 1000 had
fevers over 104. That was 50 times the rates of fever in the placebo arm (178 cases to 3).
