winding is used as a magnetic circuit to increase the coupling coe cient
between the primary and secondary windings and expand the range of the
operating frequency.
An exception to the design of a transformer of a magnetically conductive
ferromagnetic core removes the limitation on the increase in magnetic
induction and operating frequency during operation of an electric high-
frequency resonant transformer. An increase in the transmitted power and
an increase in the operating frequency is achieved by replacing the
transformer’s magnetic core with a resonant winding (resonator) made in
the form of a spiral with an electric length equal to a quarter of the standing
current wavelength and voltage in it.
Figure 1-3 presents an electric high-frequency resonant transformer and a
diagram of its connection with the supply generator and the load.
The device comprises an electric high-frequency resonant transformer 1
having a primary winding 2 with an inductance L 1 connected through a rst
resonant capacitor 3 with a capacitance C 1 to a generator 4, and a
secondary winding 5 with an inductance L 2 connected through a second
resonant capacitor 6 with a capacitance C 2 with a load 7, as well as a
resonant winding 8 having an inductance L p and its own capacitance C p .
The beginning of the primary winding 3, the secondary winding 6 and the
resonant winding 8 are combined and connected to the ground 9, and the
end 10 of the resonant winding 8 is isolated.
Electric high-frequency transformer operates as follows. Electric energy of
increased frequency from the generator 4 is supplied to the input circuit
formed by the inductance L 1 of the primary winding 2 and the capacitance C

1 of the rst resonant capacitor 3. The magnetic ux generated by the current

in the primary winding 2 transfers energy from the input resonant circuit to
the output resonant circuit formed L 2 the inductance of the secondary
winding 5 and the capacitance C 2 of the second resonance capacitor 6, and
gives it to a load 7. The magnetic ux of the primary winding 2 also excites
resonant coil 8 along which a conditional Rep resonance standing waves
are set voltage and current. At the same time, the current antinodes created

by the resonant winding 8 are located in the region of the primary winding 2,
which leads to an increase in the magnetic ux intensity in the winding 2, a
decrease in the scattering magnetic ux of the transformer 1, and an
increase in the coupling coe cient and magnetic induction during energy
transfer to the load with virtually no frequency.
The operation of an electric high-frequency resonant transformer 1 with a
resonant winding 8 as an additional magnetizing quarter-wave vibrator is
carried out when the frequencies of the supply generator 4, the input circuit
(L 1 , C 1 ), formed by the primary winding 2 and the rst capacitor 3, of the
output circuit (L 2 , C 2 ) formed by the secondary winding 5 and the
capacitance of the second capacitor 6, as well as the frequency of the
resonant winding 8, having inductance L p , own capacitance C p .
The working resonant frequencies of the input and output circuits and the
resonant winding of an electric high-frequency resonant transformer are
determined by their electrical parameters and correspond to the following
expressions.
The operating frequency of the input resonant circuit:

The operating frequency of the output resonant circuit:

The operating frequency of the resonant winding (resonator) 8:

where L 1 , L 2 , C 1 , C 2 - the inductance of the windings in GN, and the

capacitance of the capacitors in f of the primary and secondary circuits;
L 0 , C 0 - distributed linear inductance in GN / m, and capacitance, f / m
resonant winding 8; l e - the length of the coil of the resonant winding 8.

The resonant frequencies f 1 , f 2 , f 3 and the current frequency f g of the
supply generator 4 are equal to each other and are the working frequency of
the electric high-frequency resonant transformer.
In the embodiment of the transformer of FIG. 2, the beginnings of the
primary winding 2 and the secondary winding 5 are interconnected, the
beginning 9 of the resonant winding 8 is grounded, and its end 10 is
isolated.
In another embodiment, in accordance with FIG. 3, the beginnings of the
primary winding 2 and the secondary winding 5 are not galvanically
connected to each other and to the beginning of the resonant spiral winding
8, the beginning 9 of the resonant winding 8 is grounded, and its end 10 is
isolated.
In an electric high-frequency resonant transformer, the resonant winding 8,
made in the form of a spiral with a quarter-wave electric length, performs
the function of a ferromagnetic core. Primary 2 and secondary 5 windings
are wound over a quarter-wave resonant winding 8 and are located in the
current antinode formation region along the length of the resonant winding
8, which, under resonance conditions, acts as a quarter-wave vibrator. The
energy exchange between the primary and secondary windings occurs
through a magnetic eld excited in the region of the antinode current of the
resonant coil. By increasing the quality factor of the quarter-wave vibrator
formed by the resonant winding 8, the coupling coe cient and energy
exchange between the primary and secondary windings are signi cantly
increased.
The resonant winding (resonator) used in the electric high-frequency
resonant transformer does not require the use of ferrites or transformer
iron, acts as a magnetic circuit that has practically no limit of magnetic
saturation, expanding the operating frequency range by 10-100 times, and
increases the coupling coe cient between the primary and secondary
windings, which signi cantly increases the amount of transmitted power.
