Introduction
 SRVCC is a solution aimed at providing continuous voice
services on LTE networks.
 The SRVCC technology is used to ensure voice service continuity

when a single-radio UE is handed over from the E-UTRAN/EPC
to the UTRAN or GERAN.

Common Causes
 Several factors may trigger SRVCC to UTRAN.

 SRVCC Trigger Scenario

 Trigger in EUTRAN cell edge with B1 event.

 EUTRAN is high load, and UTRAN neighbour cell is low load.
 service caused
 Totally 3 modes can be configured by MOD
ServiceIrHoCfgGroup.InterRatHoState for each QCI: NO_HO,
PERMIT_HO, MUST_HO. If QCI1 is configured to MUST_HO, eNB will
trigger SRVCC procedure once UE setup QCI1.
SRVCC Procedure
PS service continuity
 PS service continuity
 UE & UTRAN support “CS+PS” SRVCC.
 MME initiate the HO prepare procedure of voice bearer and PS
bearer to MSC and SGSN respectively.
 UE or UTRAN only support “CS only” SRVCC.

 MME only initiate the HO prepare procedure to MSC for voice bearer.
 PS service will resume in UTRAN by RAU (Routing Area Update)

procedure.
SRVCC Flexible Steering to UTRAN
 Make VoIP handover to proper UTRAN frequency by SRVCC.
