Seres Mk-II Start Stop Instructions
1) PRELIMINARY OPERATIONS
1.1) Check that Single Phase either 110 VAC or 220 VAC is supplied to
Oleo Meter located in the Engine Room position 2, Except an outside
Mains switch located:

There is also an ON/OFF switch inside the Oleo meter cabinet in the left
bottom corner. Check this switch also to be in the ON position.
1.2) Check that the Three Phase either 380 VAC or 440 VAC is supplied to the
the Motor Pump Switch or Starter Box located in the Engine Room position
[3]
1.4) Check that the Service Air of approximate 7 Bars is supplied to the
OLEOMETER located in the Engine Room. Position [4]
1.5) Check that Fresh water is supplied to the Hydraulic Panoply located in
the bulkhead of the Pump Room position [6], and more precisely:

Make sure that the input line to the water tank if fitted is giving
water. If your installation is without a Tank then check that the fresh
water line giving water to the Hydraulic Panoply in position [6].
Make sure that all valves fitted in the output line from the water tank
until down to the hydraulic panoply position [6] are also open.
1.6) Make sure that a pilot air of 1,2 Bars is supplied to the SART Flow
meter located on the Hydraulic Panoply. Position [5].
1.7) Make sure that the SART flow meter Valve located on the Hydraulic
Panoply near the SART flow meter is adjusted properly for 750 L/H
approximately 1,25 turns anti clock-wise. Position [8].
1.8) Make sure that all the Valves of the Slop line from position [9] until
the Slop Tank are Open.
1.9) Make sure that all the Valves of the Sample line from the Hydraulic
Panoply, position [10] until the sampling probe position [7] are Open.
1.10) Check that Single Phase either 110 VAC or 220 VAC is supplied to the
Calculator/Operators console located in the Cargo Room Position [1] or

Except an outside Mains switch located :

There is also an ON/OFF switch located in the back side bottom left
corner as you look the Calculator/Operators Console from the front side
Check this switch also to be in the ON position.
2) MAIN OPERATIONS
2.1) Input the Ships Particulars Data in the calculator by following the
below described procedure.: After the " INITIALISATION " message
disappears from the screen, Hold Key [E] until : the following message
appears on the screen:
ENTER CODE ?
EMERGENCY STOP
TYPE KEY 3 AND B
DATE AND TIME enter the date and time by pressing key 1
CHANNEL AND FLOW RANGE selection of appropriate discharge channel 2
PPM Caution !!! always press "B" in this position 3
SPEED Your ship's speed is________Knots 4
DISCHARGE FLOW RATE Your ship's D.F.R. is __________M3/H 5
SHIP'S SITUATION Caution !!! always Proceeding 6
TYPE OF PRODUCT You enter the type of your Cargo 7
LIMIT TOTAL OIL Your Ship's L.T.O. is___________Liters 8
RESET TOTAL OIL You Zeroing your total oil discharged counter 9
INBORAD TRANSFER Caution !!! always OVERBOARD DISCHARGE CONTROLED 0
START CALIBRATION to do a calibration if necessary (Auto at 0:0H) A
TEST RUNNING to test the system for as mach time with out alarm C
BACK-FLUSHING to wash/clean the system and probes. D
ADJUSTABLE PPM ALARM to enter an PPM alarm of the Oil Content E
END INPUT DATA to enter that you finished the input of data F
Note : You have 1 min and 30 sec to enter the data each time. If no new
data is entered for 1'30" then the system returns to STANDBY or to the
original page.
After you have completed all above then you are ready to start the system
to monitoring your discharge Ballast at Sea. If your ship is a "NEW SHIP"
then the monitoring will start automatically when you will put your
Stand-By/Monitoring Switch to ---> Monitoring or ON.
If your ship is an "EXISTING SHIP" then you have to place the small
retrofit switches located either on the Operators Console, position 1 or
near by as follows :
A) Discharge Valve Position Switch to ---> Open or ON
B) Stand-By/Monitoring Switch to ---> Monitoring or ON
After finishing with your Discharge Operation you should return these
small switches to either OFF position or to :
A) Discharge Valve Position Switch to ---> Closed
B) Stand-by/Monitoring Switch to ---> Stand-by.
