    Machine Preparation
    1. Position the machine on level ground.

    2. Increase the hydraulic oil temperature to a minimum of 40°C (104°F). Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Hydraulic
    System Warm-up" for any additional information.

    1. Start the engine.

    2. Move the mast lever (2) BACKWARDS to raise the mast to the full VERTICAL position.

    Note: A drill pipe must be installed for this test.

    3. Return the mast lever (2) to the NEUTRALposition.

    4. Move the mast lock switch (3) to the LOCKED position.

    5. Adjust the hold-back rotary controller (4) is turned to the MINIMUM position.

    6. Adjust the pull-down rotary controller (5) to the MINIMUM position.

    7. Shut down the engine.

    8. Over a period of several minutes, watch the rotary head for any sign of creep.

    9. If the rotary head does not creep, no adjustment is required.

    10. if the rotary head does creep, adjustment to the hoist/pull-down counterbalance valve (1) should be made.

    1. Loosen the lock nut (6).

    2. Turn the adjustment screw (7) OUT by 1/4 turn adjustments until the rotary head does not creep.

    Note: DO NOT exceed one full turn of adjustment.

    3. Tighten the lock nut (6).
