Course: MAT 2105(Sec –B),
Title: Linear Algebra and Differential Equations
Marks: 40, Time: 1 Hour + 15 minutes for upload

About values of a, b and c. Example:

Everywhere in this question, put: Suppose your student id :021202005
a=last digit of your student id + 1 Then,
b=last digit of your student id + 2 a=6 b=7 c=8
c=last digit of your student id + 3

Section A
There are three questions in this section. Answer all of them.

1. Consider the following linear equations: [10]

C01 ax + by +c z = 16
cx + 2y + 3z = 10
and cx + 2y + k z = m
Put the values of a, b, and c and write the above equations again.
For what values of k and m, the simultaneous equations have (i) no solution,
(ii) a unique solution, and (iii) an infinite number of solutions?
2. Consider the following linear equations: [10]
C01 x + by +c z = 1
2cx + ay + 3z = 4
and cx + 2y + 3 z = -6
Put the values of a, b, and c and write the above equations again.
(a) Find the inverse of the coefficient matrix using row reduction method.
(b) Use the result obtained in part (a) to solve the linear equations.
3. 𝑎 0 [10]
Let A =
C02 2 𝑏
Put the values of a and b and write the above matrix again.
(a) Find value of A2-(a+b)A
(b) Find the eigen values and eigen vectors of A.
Section B
There are two questions in this section. Answer any one of them.

4. Let the differential equation: [10]

CO3  x  b2 xy 2  dx   y  a 2 x2 y  dy
Put the values of a and b and write the above differential equation again.
Now, Solve the differential equation:
