The main components of flange insulation kits are insulating gaskets, insulating sleeves, insulating washers and steel washers.

Flange Insulation Kits

Description
Flange Insulation Kits are designed to ensure electric insulation and
to combatthe effects of corrosion often found in flanged pipe
systems.By eliminating metal-to-metal contact, static current is
halted to prevent corrosion and aid in the cathodic protection of
the piping system.
They can be used to control stray electric currents in piping at oil,
gas, water, refinery and chemical plants in order to increase the
effectiveness of cathodic protection systems.Insulation gasket kits
are designed to prevent leakage while protecting your system
from corrosion caused by electricity.

Flange Insulation Gasket Kits Structure

The flange insulation kits are composed of one insulating gaskets, several insulating sleeves, insulating
washers and steel washers. An insulating gasket is inserted between the two flanges, and an insulating sleeve
is inserted on the bolt and isolated by an insulating washer under a steel washer. Please note: the insulation
gasket group does not include nuts and studs.
All these parts are designed according the flange sizes .Can be installed without change the flange. All parts
of each product will be packed together (except for "24") to avoid missing parts during installation.

(FULL FACE GASKETS) (RAISED FACE GASKETS)
This gasket kit provides complete protection of This gasket is manufactured to fit only the raised
both flange faces. The gasket has same outside face surface of the flanges.Outside diameter of
diameter of flanges. This feature will prevent the gasket is designed to be slightly less than the
collection of foreign matter between the flange inside diameter of the bolt circle.

There are many kinds of solid insulation materials

They are convenient and economical
The following materials are commonly used:
Plain Phenolic
PTFE
RPTFE
MICA

1020 Neoprene Faced Phenolic Gasket

Basic gasket consists of neoprene elastomer sheets bonded to a

phenolic carrier.
The neoprene face provides an effective sealing surface and the
phenolic carrier layer provides the required electrical isolation
performance.
Temperature range:+100˚C (212˚F) ~ -20˚C (-4˚F)

cathodic protection.
1030 Insulation Gasket
1030 A rectangular sealing element, encapsulated in special designed
groove, it provide near zero “m” and “y” factors to make the
controlled-pressure seal can always be obtained without tremendous
bolt loads. The material such Nitrile, EPDM, VITON and PTFE can be
used as sealing elements, this increase the options for different working
conditions. Both retainer and sealing element’s temperature limit should be considered together while
choose the material. For low pressure applications(Class 150, 300 & 600).

1050 High Pressure Insulation Gasket

1050 Extreme high-reliability sealing and insulating solution for all

critical services. Seals and insulates at all pressures classed including
Class 2500 and API 10000 psi service. This gasket can provide
excellent sealing performance and strong dielectric performance, it
is accepted by oil and gas companies all over the world.

The unique and patented design

of high pressure insulation gasket
incorporates high-strength, glass-reinforced epoxy laminate bonded to a
stainless steel core. This provides the strength of a traditional metallic
gasket while maintaining complete electrical insulation between the
flange faces. Seal grooves are machined through the laminate insulating
material and into the stainless steel core. This provides a strong base for
the seal to sit into and breaks the potential leak/weep path that is
inherent in glass laminate materials. Spring-energised PTFE internal face
seals are installed in the dovetail-shaped seal grooves to provide the
trademark pressure-activated sealing performance distinguishes the high pressure insulation gasket from all
other high pressure insulating gaskets.(Viton o-rings also available if specified).

The bolt stress of gasket is much lower than that of other gasket due to the special pressure self-sealing
structure. The inner diameter of the gasket is exactly the same as that of the flange. This design avoids
turbulence and protects the flange face from erosion.

Advantages
►Extreme high-reliability sealing and insulating solution for all
critical services.
►Seals and insulates at all pressures classed including Class 2500,
API 15000 psi,PN420 service.

Metal core Material
The standard stainless steel core is 316.
Special materials such as duplex stainless
steel, inconel stainless steel are can be
made according the requirements.

GRE Material
The standard glass-reinforced epoxy
material is NAME G10, G11 is available when
the temperature requirement is higher.

Insulating Sleeves
There are two materials commonly used in insulating sleeves: Mylar and GRE
(Glass-Reinforced Epoxy). If required, other materials can be made available
by special request. The GRE sleeves are the best solution for all around
reliability. The material is extremely strong and can withstand significantly
more abuse and harsh conditions than any other sleeve material available.
For the ultimate in reliability and assurance of continued electrical insulation,
GRE is the best selection for most every industrial application.
Mylar sleeves are suitable for less critical service. Mylar does not have the strength or durability of GRE but
does have the primary advantage of being less expensive than GRE.

Insulating & Steel Washers

Insulating washer is usually a separate washer that can be combined with an insulating
sleeve. The steel washers are usually galvanized carbon steel washers or stainless steel washers,
and the other materials can be customized according to the customer's requirements.
Standard thickness is 1/8 inch , Insulating washers are fit insulating sleeves in full range of bolts
sizes. Following are the materials availible
