Motivation and Personal Competencies
Empretec’s unique methodology, rooted in researches conducted in the late 1960s by David McClelland,
psychologist at Harvard University, is based on the assumption that everyone has an inner motivation to
improve. This “motive for action” is divided into three motivational categories: achievement, affiliation, and
power.
There are 10 Personal Entrepreneurial Competencies, which form the basis of the Empretec Training
Workshop. These 10 competencies are:
