Welcome to the TLE Agricultural Crop Production Grade 7/8 Self Learning Module
(SLM) on Farm Tools, Equipment and Preventive Maintenance
This module was collaboratively designed, developed and reviewed by educators both
from public and private institutions to assist you, the teacher or facilitator in helping
the learners meet the standards set by the K to 12 Curriculum while overcoming
their personal, social, and economic constraints in schooling.
This learning resource hopes to engage the learners into guided and independent

What is It
Farm Implements
These are accessories which are being pulled by working animals or mounted
to machineries (hand tractor, tractor) which are usually used in the preparation of
land. These are usually made of a special kind of metal.

tractor and is used for tilling
large areas, making furrows and
inter row cultivation. Disc Plow
Harrow
The native wooden
harrow is made of wood with a Disc Harrow
metal teeth and pulled by a
carabao while disc harrow is
made of metal mounted to a
tractor. It is used for tilling and
pulverizing the soil.
Rotovator
An implement mounted to
a tractor used for tilling and Rotavator
pulverizing the soil.

Hand Tools
Hand tools are usually light and are used without the help of animals or
machines. They are being used in performing farm activities which involve small
areas like school garden and home garden.

These are machineries used in crop production. They are used in land
preparation and in transporting farm inputs and products. This equipment needs a
highly skilled operator to use.
