    Assignment 5: Asking and Giving Directions

    Class : 2C S1-Keperawatan

    Now we move to discuss asking and giving directions. There are several ways to ask and give
    directions as you can see here.

    Asking Directions

    Excuse me, I am looking for the......

    Sorry, where is / are ......

    Do you know where ....... is/are?

    Excuse me, could you tell me how to get to ......

    ‌Look at this map (at the module page 19) and then complete the conversations.

    1. Visitor: Excuse me, I‟m looking for the canteen. Can you help me?
    Nurse: Yes of course. Go straight on and it is in front of you, the canteen is in the
    corner of the corridor.

    ‌ isitor: Excuse me, do you know where the Maternity Unit is?
    Nurse: It is on the first floor. Turn left here, go stright on, and when you get to the
    information desk, turn right. At the end way of the corridor, turn right again and
    take elevator A. The Maternity Unit is the first door on the left.

    ‌ isitor: Hello. Do you know if there is a shop in the building? We want to buy some
    magazines.
    Nurse: Sure. Just turn left here and way of down the corridor, there is a gift shop
    beside of the pharmacy. You can buy magazines there, I think.

    Number 4 and 5, make a conversation between nurse and visitor/patient when asking
    and giving directions based on the map above.

    4. Visitor: Excuse me, do you know that there is a bank in this hospital? I want to go
    there can you show me the way?
    Nurse: Sure. You just go straight there then turn right the bank is between the gift
    shop and the outpatient lab & radiology (X-ray)

    5. Visitor : Excuse me, I’m looking for the waiting area in the ground floor?
    Nurse : You just go straight until you find the casualty, turn right and the waiting
    area is beside of the casualty.
