    Past simple of irregular verbs

    Affirmative Negative Question

     We do not form the past simple of irregular verbs by adding –ed. Each irregular verb has its
    own form of the past simple. (See the Irregular Verbs list )
    come->came go->went give->gave
    We went to school by bus yesterday. She didn’t say anything.

     Remember that:
    o In the negative, we use did not/didn’t before the bare infinitive
    I didn’t see them yesterday. She didn’t say anything.
    o In questions, we put did at beginning of the sentence and we use the bare infinitive.
    Did you wear your balck T-shirt? Did she send you the e-email?
    o In short answers, we don’t repeat the verb.
    A: Did they take many photos? B. Yes, they did./ No, they didn’t.
