TableTop Simulator for Age of Sigmar Guide

DISCLAIMER:
This is designed to help people setup games of “age of sigmar” on “tabletop simulator”. I’ll only
be supporting this during the COVID19 pandemic to reduce the number of gamers playing face
to face and risk the further spreading of the virus. Let’s try to support local business and be kind
to each other during these trying times. Be safe!

Step 1:
Install TableTop simulator, preferably on steam.

Step 2 (optional):
If possible, find the directory where the mods are kept for the installation, its usually somewhere
under “my documents/my games”.

Step 3:
Make sure TableTop Simulator has been run AT LEAST once.
Run the installation tool, which can be found here:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/psh3utdebb7lov9/AOS_TabletopSimulator.zip?dl=0
Run “Setup”.
Under the second step you may have to enter the directory found in step 2, (although it should
be able to work it out for you.)

Mac User?
THIS MAY NOT WORK, im still working on coping with you lot. As a workaround, find where the
mod folder is for you (then tell me please), and copy the “Warhammer AOS” folder inside
“content” folder next to the “setup” file in the zip file you downloaded to the “workshop” folder
inside the TTS mod folder when and if you find it.

Non english user?

THIS MAY NOT WORK. Replace “my games” with the equivalent folder inside my documents,
the “Tabletop Simulator” folder should be there.

Step 4:
Success! If it’s worked, launch tabletop simulator.
Failure! If not, make note of the error message and seek help! It’s most likely either because it
can’t find the path set about in step 2, or you lack permissions to write to it. Either run the
installer as an admin, or contact someone smart.

Step 5:
Build your army! Think of an army as you usually would, the crazier the better. I’ve decided I
want an army with 3 Dread Saurians, and some skinks. So I’ll need to load that army. To do
this:
Hit create…
Singleplayer (for now)
Then Workshop
You SHOULD (if the installer has worked) see a folder called “Warhammer AOS”, click it, then
AOS Armies.
Pick the army you desire, in my case I want to play seraphon.
NOTE: The variation in quality is noticeably varied. The seraphon are particularly good, but
others... less so. I couldn’t find a complete collection of “cities of sigmar” for instance, there may
be some stuff missing… deal with it.
Select your army from the list, wait for it to load.

You will then be presented with your models on a table. I want some dread saurian, so I’m
selecting that model, right clicking, then “Save Object”. Call it something suitable and hit Save.

For more numerous models you may have to copy and past copies of them. Skinks for example,
usually come in 10s.
Drag and drop what you can find, when selected copy and paste as you would text, to duplicate
the models.
Select as many as you’d like in a group, then right click and save object again.
NOTE:
There is also an endless spell army if you’d like to include some of those.
Once you’ve got the models you need. Lets start a game.

Step 6:
Return to the main menu. (Escape, then Main Menu).
Hit “Create”, then single or multiplayer.
Head to workshop, hit the Warhammer AOS folder, AOS Maps.
At the moment I have one scenario in the pack, and some other prebuilt maps. I’ll be using the
scenario for now, as it has the deployment zones and objectives built in.

You may see a bunch of red warnings appear. Its generally ok to ignore these. Press “X” to any
initial pop ups.
You should see a variety of tools in front of you.
The black bags on your left contain terrain, drag click them out of the bag onto the table.
You can reduce their size by right clicking on them, then scale, then down.
Once your terrain is in place, its a good idea to lock it in place by right clicking, then toggles,
then lock. This prevents them from moving.
To load your armies, hit “Objects” at the top of the screen, then “Saved Objects”

You should see the objects saved earlier, and anything else you’ve saved.
Drag them onto the board.

You’re now ready to play! Drag each unit to deployment as you would in a regular game. The
scenario comes with dice to use, and if you hold TAB you will find it comes with an inbuilt ruler.

Step 7:
You’re ready to play! You may find other useful objects to use built in. I use D12s as wound
trackers, and “Counter” (found under objects -> components -> tools) as good indicators for
CPs, VPs etc. Have fun and share whatever useful tips you find.

Step 8 (optional):
If you’re needing a lot of dice to be rolled at once (and you probably are). Try the dice roller
under “Warhammer AOS” -> “Tools”.
There is a good explanation of how to use it surrounding the tool, but here’s the short version.
Right click on the black board, save it as an object.
Do the same for the small brown box near the top left of the black board. (Or both at once).

When you’re playing your game. Load both the board and the box from your saved objects.
If you find theyre not moving despite clicking on them, they may be locked (right click, toggles,
lock) to unlock them.
Make sure the brown box is place upon the * star on the black board. Its a good idea to lock
these two once theyre in a good place.
NOTE: the brown box sometimes requires you to hold the click button on it to move it.
Now grab as many dice as you need, and drag them onto the brown box.
They should be rolled and distributed for you. Very handy!
