    1. Cite at least five social issues in the Philippines.

    From what I have searched these five social issues exist in the Philippines. These are poverty, corruption,
    insurgency, unemployment, and crab and colonial mentality. Poverty happens when there are less
    opportunity and people experience difficulties in life. Corruption occurs when an individual shows
    unethical behavior and intentionally do illegal activities. Insurgency is an active revolt by someone or a
    group of people which provides a burden to the government. It also becomes a hindrance to rural
    development. Unemployment is a situation where individuals are unable to find or get a job. Crab and
    colonial mentality is the negative mindset of people thinking that imported products are way superior
    than local products.

    2. Choose one of the selected social issues in the Philippines and create steps/ways on how to
    solve the said issue

    In the five social issues, I would like to talk about poverty. This issue exists almost in the entire world. It
    was being talked about many times everywhere. We can't take from not talking about it since it's
    rampant. Practically speaking, it is difficult to solve this worldwide problem considering the current
    situation right now. But with determination and long-term solutions, we can actually minimize its impact
    and reduce its cases.

    The first thing to do is to start with ourselves. We need to work harder and smarter to help ourselves
    achieve a comfortable life. We just don't rely on the government to provide everything for us. Each
    individual must exert effort and don't just ask everything from God. As what famous saying says "nasa
    diyos ang awa, nasa ao ang gawa".Secondly, it would help to develop and implement sustained
    economic growth policies and programs. It is one way of empowering people who experienced poverty.
    The support from the government is a big help to motivate people for working harder. The third is the
    proper management of resources. It is important to take care of the source of our necessities.
    Conservation would help us in the long run. Moreover, the government needs to encourage businesses
    and provide jobs. Enough opportunity can help people to be lifted from poverty. Lastly is to remove the
    barriers and develop social protection system. Removing barriers allow people to access services and
    resources such as education, healthcare, adequate food, and other necessities.

    By providing and applying long-term solutions, we might just wake up in the future where poverty
    doesn't exist anymore. God only knows.
