Hi everyone, my name is Juan Sebastian Guerrero Leal and I’m going to talk about san andres

island.

SAN ANDRÉS ISLAND

San Andrés is a Colombian coral island in the Caribbean Sea that is part of the department of
Archipelago of San Andrés, Providencia, and Santa Catalina, which is part of the Colombian
insular region as well. San Andrés is the largest island of the department and have different
official languages, which are Spanish, English, and San Andrés–Providencia Creole, which is a
combination between African languages and English, this language it's spoken by locals. The
department's capital is located on the northern end of the island, it's called San Andrés but
nicknamed El Centro, it’s the department's main urban center.

It’s a very touristy island with beautiful beaches and extensive aquatic life. It’s a Colorful, lively
place, full of nature and some people find this island peaceful and historic. With no doubt, this
is a great choice if you love sunny places and like the sea.

Now I'm going to recommend you three great places to visit on this beautiful island if you want
to go there someday.

Acuario cay

Acuario cay or rose cay, best known as "El Acuario" is one of the most beautiful places that I
have ever been, I really love this place, and I want to come back soon, I'd definitely
recommend going there, it's in the east of the island and you get there by boat. This place is
full of fish, so you can swim with them and meets a lot of different species, there is cabins with
lockers to keep your belongings safe, was a really nice experience, because I was near to
colorful and big fish.

Haynes Cay

Haynes cay or Islote Córdoba is a small island near Acuario cay, you can get there by walking,
the interesting part here is that you walk above the sea, there is water between both cays but
the water is not deep, it mostly touches your waist, and sometimes there are some stingrays,
was a nice experience walk there and you should definitely go, and in the cay, you see all the
island that makes this cay a great place to take pictures and videos.

And, if you like to take rides in boats or ships, you'll love to take a ride near San Andrés Island,
there are a lot of boats with activities that navigate around the island, and sometimes a guide
take you to know places like the ship aground in the rocky cay, or they took you to see
stingrays and starfish. It's a nice activity to do but if you are scared to do this kind of rides, I
wouldn't recommend it.
Spratt Bight Beach

Some people called this beach as one of the most beautiful beaches in the country, and I think
that's true, the water is crystalline and quite, it's like a gigantic pool, it's a great place to swim,
because you can swim further and further and it doesn't turn deep. You can also find fish if
you're lucky and they swim near to you, it's worth visiting. When I went there I was staying in a
hotel near to this beach, so there are a lot of places to eat and hang out.
