Learning Competencies 1. State the three levels of perfection of Mahayana Buddhism (moral discipline,
cultivation of virtue and altruistic conduct).
2. Give examples of acts of generosity of Mahayana Buddhists.
3. Explain: The core teaching of Mahayana Buddhism is to seek complete
enlightenment for the benefit of all living beings through insight and compassion.
4. Draw the insights from the act of generosity of Tzu Chi Foundation that reflect the
core teaching of Mahayana Buddhism.
Specific Learning Outcomes 1. Strengthen the acts of generosity of Tzu Chi Foundation by following the core
teaching of Mahayana Buddhism using the information gathered from the interview
(resource speaker) and group sharing that could led in seeking the complete
enlightenment for the benefit of all living beings such that the final output is a short
play presentation encapsulating the three core teachings of Mahayana Buddhism.

2. Discuss the three levels of perfection and provide examples of acts of generosity of
people embracing Mahayana Buddhism from the gathered information using video
clips through small group discussion and brainstorming so that the students could
apply these values by conducting an outreach program in their own locality.
