1. Sketch and describe in terms of polar coordinates the region bounded


by

(a) x2 + y 2 = 4a2 in the first quadrant.


(b) x2 − 4x + y 2 = 4 in the first quadrant.

2. Express the following in terms of cylindrical coordinates.

(a) x2 + y 2 = 36.
(b) x2 + y 2 + z 2 = 36.

3. Sketch and use the cylindrical coordinates to describe the region

(b) inside the parabloid z = x2 + y 2 and below the plane z = 9.

4. Sketch and use the spherical coordinates to describe the region
