(a) Set up an integral or sum of integrals that give the area of R using vertical rectangles. Do
not evaluate.
(b) Set up an integral or sum of integrals for the perimeter of R. Do not evaluate.
6. Let R be the region bounded by the curves x = ey , x + y = 1 and the line x = e. Consider the solid
generated when R is revolved about the line x = e.
(a) Sketch the curves x = ey and x + y = 1 and the line x = e. Hence, solve for their three points
of intersection.
(b) Using the Disk or Washer Method, calculate the volume of the solid.
(c) Using the Cylindrical Shells Method, set up the integral that gives the volume of the solid. Do
not evaluate.
