Bishop Family Notice - Please inform your current classroom teacher and Mrs.
Gonsalves ([email protected]) if your family will be moving out of the
Bishop district next school year. Thank you so much.
As we are now into the second week of June, with two weeks remaining in the school
year, we find ourselves in a very different place than we are used to. There are a lot of
emotions we are feeling including a great sense of pride in all that we have
accomplished this year and that feeling of loss for what we are missing. Over the next
two weeks, the Bishop staff and administration will be working with our students on
activities that will allow for a sense of closure on the year and a look ahead at what is
to come in the next grade level.
I ask that you read this Weekly Update in its entirety, as this is a comprehensive look
at the last weeks of school.

Lastly, we want to invite you to a virtual Meet and Greet with the Kindergarten team
on Wednesday June 10th @ 2pm. In order to address all the questions you have, we
have included this form for you to ask questions ahead of time. We will take these
questions and incorporate the answers into our presentation on June 10th.
Although we cannot meet each of you in person this spring, we want you to know
that we are all so excited for you to be joining the Bishop family. Even in our present
remote learning setting, we are still enthusiastically planning for your children to join
us in the fall!
To expedite this process, please make a sign to put on the passenger side of your
dashboard with your child's first and last name and their teacher's name. We will read
your sign, gather all your child's belongings, and place them into the trunk or rear of
your vehicle.

It has been some time since you heard from us in this Bulletin, although we have been
active in your children’s Google Classrooms throughout the past few months.
We have been thinking of you, and wanted to reach out now with two very different
messages:
If your family will be back at Bishop in the fall, we ask you to please KEEP our books
safe at home with you, and we will collect them later.
We hope that you are all staying safe. We thank you for your cooperation, we are
thinking of you all, and we miss you and your children!

Summer Reading
Program
Thanks to Pam Watts-Flavin and her team at
Robbins Library for organizing an online Summer Reading Program this year. We have
attached two pages that explain the Summer Reading program for kids through the
Arlington Libraries. Included in the information sheets are: a description of summer
reading, how to sign up for summer reading, a summer reading chart, how to access
e-books and e-audio and other great stuff that they have on-line, and some links and
information about some of the great programs that they are offering through the
libraries this summer. Please watch their Kids website at robbinslibrary.org.for more
times and places to get free books! We strongly encourage all of our Bishop Bears to
take advantage of this wonderful opportunity. We are very fortunate to have a town
library that is dedicated to our young readers and they never disappoint. Enjoy!!
