CHAPTER-4

SOCIAL,CULTURAL,POLITICAL AND
ECONOMICAL IMPACT ON SOCIETY
When we talk about this dynasty i.e. the Ikshvaku dynasty , we have not much ample
information regarding the political setup but as per the available sources the society was very
balanced . The king was very accountable to his people and he took care of them. People were
also very honest (exceptions were also there ).Almost all of the rulers of this dynasty were very
helpful towards their people .

However, kind and loving nature of king never caused any


unpleasant situation because rules and regulations were very strictly followed and were never
compromised. A very harmonious society was there and people were very happy with the
administration .A very big army was being maintained to ensure the safety of people and also the
boundary of the state from any unwanted consequences.Punitial system was also there for any
wrongs committed.

When we talk in social context , society was very much satisfied with their ruler i.e. the king and
they were very cooperative to each other. Usually, they rely on cattles for their livelihood . They
were very disciplined and in general they never quarreled. However, some conflicts were there
but that was very limited .

Religious activities were very much prevalent and people used to follow their religion without
any obstruction. They were free to follow their culture and religion . Various types of cultural
activities were prevalent at that time and were freely practiced.

The states were very prosperous and there was no lack of wealth at that time. If we go by the
sources available then we can find that people were usually rich. State treasury was also in good
condition because taxes were regularly collected . Economy was in very good condition and as a
result, development was very fast.
