Superior Middle School, Superior, WI (January - May 2020)
● Worked with 8th graders.
● Acted as a resource for students if they had a question.
● Took over grading and giving feedback for a Holocaust Research Project Unit.
● Adapted lessons for students when distance learning started.
● Gained experience motivating struggling students to do their coursework and
understand the material.
● Taught lessons while CT was gone, and was able to gain experience being the
familiar authoritative figure in the room while substitute teachers were
present.

Practicum Student
Duluth East High School, Duluth, MN (September - November 2019)
● Worked with 10th, 11th, and 12th graders.
● Conducted two lessons in Honors 10 classes to teach a World Literature story
and give them the tools to analyze a complex and seemingly pointless story to
understand the true meaning behind the text.
● Taught a joint lesson in Creative Writing for 11th and 12th graders to teach
them how to use their imagination to collaborate with their peers to write a
coherent story.

Lincoln Park Middle School, Duluth, MN (February - April 2019)
● Observed and assisted in a 7th grade rudimentary level and regular level
English classroom.
● Gained experience working with students who struggled in class and also
students who thrived in class.
● Gave students spelling tests.
● Conducted two lessons, one joint lesson with another practicum student, and
another on my own. Both lessons were centered around stereotypes and how
to avoid using stereotypes when interacting with new people.

encouraging engagement in class.

Host/Server Assistant

● Gained experience talking to people from vastly different demographics,
temperaments, and viewpoints while always working to provide a positive
experience for them.
● Willing to pause my personal tasks to aid others and still complete my
assignments by the end of my shift.
