DAILY LESSON PLAN
Teacher: GLADYS ANGELA B. VALDEMORO
SHS Teacher II

SUBJECT: GENERAL MATHEMATICS

Date:
JUNE 19-20, 2019
I. Objectives At the end of the session, the grade 11 students can do the following with at
Competencies least 75% level of accuracy:
a. performs addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and composition
of functions M11GM-Ia-3
b. show cooperation during group activities.

Content: Functions and their Graphs

Content Standard: The learner demonstrates understanding of key concepts of functions.
Performance Standard: The learner is able to accurately construct mathematical models to represent
real-life situations using functions.
II. Lesson Title Operations on Functions
Source: GenMath Learner’s Material
Materials: Cartolina/manila paper, marker, Cellphones, QR Code Scanner app, Class dojo,
visual aids
III. Procedure
The teacher checks the attendance of the class using class dojo and awards those
who are present.
Instruct the students to arrange their chairs and pick up the pieces of trash on
the floor and segregate them accordingly.
The teacher tells the students to proceed to their respective group, which was
made during the previous meeting. Emphasize to the class that they were
grouped equally regardless of their abilities and gender.
Remind the students of the rules that were agreed upon before starting any
activity.

ANALYSIS The different groups will be given QR codes. They will be given 10 minutes to
solve for their assigned task.

ABSTRACTION The teacher will let the students present their work/answers.
The teacher will facilitate the students.

Present the definition.

Let f and g be functions.
(a) Their sum, denoted by f + g, is the function defined by
(f + g)(x) = f(x) + g(x).
(b) Their difference, denoted by f −g, is the function defined by
(f −g)(x) = f(x)− g(x).
(c) Their product, denoted by f ·g, is the function defined by
(f ·g)(x) = f(x)·g(x).
(d) Their quotient, denoted by f/g, is the function defined by
APPLICATION (f/g)(x) = f(x)/g(x), excluding the values of x where g(x) = 0.
The teacher will ask the students if they have any questions.

The teacher will present some other examples of operations on functions, the
students are to answer with their respective group and raise their answer with
flash card.
Evaluation (the students will answer individually on their notebooks and use the class dojo
app to send their answers)
Solve the following functions.
(a) (v + g)(x) (b) (f · p)(x) (c) (p−f)(x) (d) (v/g)(x)

Annotation The class is using class dojo app to make the students behave well and using this
app is helpful in the paperless campaign of the school since notes would be more
accessible and even their quizzes could be easily submitted through this
application.
