EzPOS Bus Ticketing POS System


Users Manual
OPERATIONS:

Access Key Cards


The system utilizes key cards as a means of security control. Each employee with
a particular function/duty is issued with a key card. The key cards are pre-programmed to
each user menu rights where he/she can gain access. The key cards are of RFID type
where users can just tap the card in-front of the LCD display to proceed.

Turning ON
The unit is turned ON by pressing the red POWER button located at the upper-left
portion of the keypad. Once turned ON, the Main menu will be displayed showing
choices for each individual user of the unit.

Turning OFF
To optimize the usage of the mobile POS by extending the battery life, the units
can be turned OFF if not in use. Turning OFF is done by pressing the red POWER button
located at the upper-left portion of the keypad.

Charging
The POS must be charged when the battery level indicator shows low. The battery
level indicator is found at the upper-right side of the LCD display. The unit can be
charged using its normal AC-powered charger or the car-charger that can be plugged in a
car/bus cigarette lighter jack.

MENU DESCRIPTION / USAGE:

Dispatcher/Setup
In early morning, before use, the mobile POS must be configured to each
individual conductor. This is done by selecting the DISPATCHER/SETUP menu. The
POS will display the current setup parameters such as: Control Number and Conductor
assigned to the particular POS and bus. To edit the information, a key card with
DISPATCHER rights is needed.

Ticketing
This ticketing menu is only accessible with a key card with that is configured in
the DISPATCHER/SETUP menu as the conductor of the bus. Once accessed is given, the
POS displays the ticketing screen where the conductor sets the kilometer-post of origin
and destination of the passenger. Pressing UP/DOWN buttons changes the origin, while
the destination kilometer-post is punched directly at the numeric keypad as a 2 digit
number. Pressing ENTER prints the tickets. For senior citizen/student passenger pressing
FUNC gives the discount. Multiple tickets can be printed on the fly by pressing ENTER
or FUNC many times.

Inspection
Inspectors that do random checks access this menu. This prints the current
passenger tickets and the summary per kilometer-post passenger exit.

View Sales
Total sales for the day are viewed here. Teller and Conductor key cards can access
this menu.

X-Reading
This menu will print out the detailed listing of the day's transaction. The printed
report will also show the summary of ticket sales, regular and discounted as well as the
overall total. This as well closes the sales operations and add the total sales to the total
accumulated sales reported at the Z-Reading report. After executing this menu, no other
transactions can be done on the machine except for Z-Reading and Synchronization.

Z-Reading
This menu will print out the the total accumulated sales of the POS from the
beginning of its use up to the last X-Reading. The printed report will show the previous
Z-reading, Reset Counter and pertinent information too.

Sync
This menu performs data synchronization of sales transaction to the backend
server PC. All sales transaction will be added to the E-Journal that serves as data log and
backup. After the synchronization backup, this clears the transaction of the day, resetting
the daily sales and clearing the dispatcher information. This prepares the POS for the
next day operation.

USER TYPE KEYCARD CLASSIFICATION AND RIGHTS:

• Dispatcher/Inspector - This keycard and user has access to the DISPATCHER/SETUP


menu where the dispatcher and bus inspector assigns a particular conductor to use the
POS related to the bus where it is assigned. This keycard right has access to the
INSPECTION menu as well where it can print out the status of the passengers alighting to
each particular destination and the issued tickets summary as well.

• Conductor – This keycard is assigned to each conductor. This keycard have access to the
TICKETING menu where one could issue and print a ticket to the passengers. The
TICKETING menu is exclusive only to the assigned keycard. The rights assignment is
done in DISPATCHER/SETUP menu by the user with Dispatcher/Inspector rights. This
security right could access the VIEW SALES menu as well where the conductor to view
his current running sales for the day.
• Teller – The teller keycard rights has access to the daily closing functions of the POS
operations. At the end of the day, after when the conductor remits and liquidate his cash
sales, the teller can open the VIEW SALES, the X-READING and the SYNC menu
sequentially. This closes the days transactions and prepares the POS for the next day's
operations.

• Manager – The managerial keycard rights has an override access rights that has Teller
and Dispatcher/Inspection rights. He can takeover and use his card to access all menus
that the teller and inspector/dispatcher can use. He however could not enter the
TICKETING menu where he is not allowed to issue tickets. Only the assigned conductor
keycard can enter this menu.
