    1. INTRODUCTION
    Brickwork serves the purpose of Architecture partitioning and
    compartmentalization only. Brick wall shall be constructed with sound,
    square and clean cement sand bricks. Door frame shall be constructed
    to meet the requirement of the contract specification/approved
    construction drawing in the form of thickness and shapes etc.

    2. SCOPE OF WORKS

    This method statement of construction of brick wall encompasses


    Construction procedure, setting out, Materials, necessary machinery &
    equipment, QA/QC, Safety and Health Aspects.

    3. REFERENCE
    Approved construction drawings and contract specification

    4. PURPOSE
    To ensure the R.C works is comply with project specification and
    standard

    5. RESPONBILITY
    Site supervisors and Site Engineer

    6. MATERIALS
    The following materials shall follow as per mentioned in construction
    drawings and contract specification

     Exmet
     Dowel Bar R6
     RE-100 or Tenn Thunder Bond
     Cement sand brick
     Door frame

    7. MACHINERY AND EQUIPMENT

     Batching mixer
     Wheel barrow
     Plumb bob

    8. PREPARATORY WORKS

    8.1 A sample of the brick shall be submitted to the Architect for


    approval prior to bulk delivery of the material to site.

    To make sure all materials are on site before work commence.

    The materials (brick) shall be inspected by contractor to ensure that


    the size does not deviate (bigger or smaller) than the approved
    sample size. Sizes that varies need to be rejected.

    If any walls that has been erected, which uses the variance of the
    size that is deemed too significant will be rejected by architect
    during inspection.

    Clean the site for brick laying i.e. concrete dropping, timber, etc.

    8.2 Brick wall setting out and dimension shall be carried out in
    accordance to architectural drawings.

    9. WORK METHODOLOGY

    9.1 Study the architectural drawing before setting out the alignment.

    9.2 Stiffeners will be erected accordingly to the requirement depending


    of span and height of wall.

    Based on the General Notes of structural drawing for half brick the
    max spacing will be 3m and for full brick the max spacing will be
    5m. If any max spacing other than listed shall get approval from
    Structural Engineer.

    Dowel Bar to be plant to column or rc wall before starting brick


    laying refer to attachment 1.

    Door frame shall be installed as per approved method statement.

    Plump bob and string will be used to check vertical alignment.


    String also will be used to check the horizontal alignment.

    Install Exmet wire mesh start at first 2nd course and consecutively
    every 4th course.

    Mix cement and sand to a ratio of 1:6 for the mortar mix using the
    concrete mixer. Add plasticizer as per supplier requirement.

    All bricks shall be properly bedded in mortar and all joints shall be
    thoroughly flushed up. Thickness of joints shall be consistent
    whenever possible.

    RC kickers / curb shall be erected at bathrooms and wet areas


    at 50-100 mm height for brickwork to sit.

    9.3 Brick laying shall be carried out perfectly true and plumb in uniform manner.

    9.4 All intersections Joints and angles of brick walls must be properly
    bonded with full throttling.

    9.5 Voids, if any, in between R.C structures and brick wall shall be
    thoroughly filled up.

    9.6 The completed wall shall generally be even and clean with no excess
    mortar protrusion.

    9.7 Upon completion, all unwanted mortar droppings shall be removed


    while still wet and the work area shall be cleaned of all other
    unwanted materials immediately.

    10. SAFETY AND HEALTH ASPECT

    To ensure all personnel and labors on site wear safety helmet and
    safety boots when entering site
