BURGLARY 10-61256 &10-61266 ARREST MADE

On 12/15/2010, Deputies assigned to Ypsilanti Township responded to the 500 block of Oaklawn Avenue (South of
Ecorse Road) for a burglary complaint. The Deputies discovered two suspect(s) forced open a door to gain entry. As
the Deputies were investigating the burglary, additional Deputies were dispatched to residential burglary alarm
several blocks away, 1000 block of Hawthorne Avenue (Case number 10-61266). The Deputies discovered a
burglary that had just occurred.

The Deputies determined that the same suspects committed both burglaries and followed the suspects’ foot prints in
the snow. The Deputies located the property that was stolen from both burglaries. The Deputies continued to follow
the foot prints and located one of the suspects in the yard, in the 1000 block of Crestwood Avenue, of an unoccupied
residence several blocks from the original incident.

The suspect, a 13 year-old Superior Township resident, was taken into custody and later turned over to his mother.
The investigation will be turned over to the Washtenaw County Prosecutors Office for review. There is no additional
information on the second suspect at this time.
*This case is still under investigation.
