Starter motor

If the starter motor has been active for 30 seconds and the engine has not started, The E-ECU deactivates the starter motor by
the grounding via EB29 disappears and an alarm figure is shown on the information display unit.
If the engine is running or if the transmission is in another gear position than N, the starter motor is not activated.
If the starter motor has been active for 3 seconds and the E-ECU does not register any engine rpm, the starter motor is
deactivated and a vehicle message is generated.
Monitoring, starter motor
The E-ECU controls activation of the starter motor with regards to activation time and thus the risk of overheating, see

If the engine's overheating control is not available, then instead the HMIM monitors the starter motor and generates an alarm
when there is a risk of overheating, see software description.
