B. Store and dispose of solvent-based materials, and materials used with solvent-
based materials, in accordance with requirements of local authorities having
jurisdiction.
C. Keep flammable products away from spark or flame. Do not allow the use of
spark producing equipment during application and until all vapors have
dissipated. Post "NO SMOKING" signs.
D. Maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition, removing empty containers,
rags, and rubbish daily from the site.

2.2 DAMPPROOFING
A. Bitumen Sheet: For waterproofing top of concrete block walls, beneath pre-
cast concrete coping.
B. Polythene sheet: For waterproofing under slabs, provide polythene, laid into
lap edges to a minimum of 300mm. Gauge 250mm microns and thickness
1000 gauge.
2.3 WATERPROOFING
A. Procedure for G.R.P. lining of all interior walls slabs columns to concrete
water tanks (excluding inner slab softies).
1. Surface preparation:
- Sweep blast the surface to remove any previous water proof
material and latence and provide a key for the fiberglass.
- Vacuum clean the tank to remove all sand and waste.
- Provide a polyester mortar fillet around all sharp corners.
2. Lining
- Once the surface prepared, the surface will be brushed with a low
viscosity alkali resistant polyester-resin to provide a bond with
subsequent layers. This will be followed by the applications of
polyester paste to fill an pores.
- Thickness of 500 microns.
- Total thickness will be minimum of 2000 microns.
2.4 MATERIALS
1. Composition SBS
modified bitumen
reinforced with unwoven
polyester.
2. Total membrane thickness 4mm
3. Weight per m2 4.7 kg/m2
4. Non-woven polyester reinforcement 180 gr/m2
5. Tensile strength 700 n/5cm
6. Elongation 45%
7. Resistance to point load 25 kg
8. Tear resistance 25 da n
