    V. RATIONALE:
    Reading is a key to moral and academic success. It is a subject that
    should be given emphasis for it is the springboard in learning other areas. One
    of the strategies for various reading programs is the language experience
    approach that includes listening to and telling stories to promote productive
    thinking and allows freedom of expression. A child should be ready to read and
    ready to get the clear understanding of what he sees and reads in order to
    provide her with a good early experience. Early language and early pre-
    learning reading activities contribute to the development of feeling of a child.
    Absence of this development will stifle learning and understanding sounds,
    letters, and language. Language in reading is the building block of speech.

    Provide children opportunities to engage with quality books at school or


    at home. Reading and sharing a book with them to greater quantities of print
    and meaningful language opportunities. Books will enable them to explore and
    express their natural curiosity. Books are the children’s access to the
    development of literacy. Read to them. Give them books. Let them read.

    VI. OBJECTIVE:
    1. To produce critical readers who find reading a tool for lifelong
    learning.
    2. Enhance/develop the comprehension through asking questions,
    interpretation and reasoning.
    3. Develop the genuine love for reading.
