STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
Quote:

prospect of devoting my long-term career to such a dynamic, fast advancing field.
Introduction and About My Family Background:
My name is Sairaj Umakant Sawant. I pursued my undergraduate studies in Computer Science and
Engineering at Padmabhushan Vasantdada Patil Pratishtan College Of Engineering, Mumbai
University, India. I live in Mumbai along with my parents and one young sister. My father working
at State Bank Of India as senior Cashier, my younger sister is graduated and my mother is
government servant and working at Mantralaya. Considering Education as our priority ever since,
thus I am planning to pursue my higher education of Master's program, for the term February '18, at
your esteemed University.
Educational Background:
I have completed my schooling in chikitsak samuha shirolkar high school,India. My school helped
me to develop my study and extra curriculum skills like sports and voluntary participation in
various activities of school functions. During my schooling tenure, I realized that I’m able to keep a
good balance of my sports field as well as my academics.
Later I got enrolled into vidyalankar College, Mumbai to complete my diploma in computer
engineering. Further I successfully got rolled into one of the finest college of Computer Engineering
under Mumbai University. Throughout my course of graduation, I have acquainted with topics such
as Structured Programming , Computer Networks, Data Structures, Analysis of Algorithm, Java and
other related where Theory of Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning,
Operating System etc. This exposure gave me a drift to incline more towards the concept of
technology changing the world rapidly day-by-day.
Opportunity of field and about Australia:
Sooner I realized that technology is what assisted us in our development. Whether it may be in field
of Lifestyle, Business, Service, Facility, Healthcare Transport, etc there has been remarkable
contribution made by the ever growing technology in each domain making it capable providing
endless opportunities of knowledge, carrier wise and personal growth. Thus I started gathering
information over the new and exciting technologies in order to look out for the most influenced one
for me amongst many other for my further education. After lots of research, suggestions of senior
mates, and guidance of my college teachers I decided to have in-depth knowledge of my interest by
pursuing master’s degree. I started looking out for best abroad study destination and ended up
choosing Australia among USA, UK, and Canada due to its great educational culture and hands on
industry level tools for the better understanding of students. And providing progressive education
program with a reputation for excellence, i.e. globally recognized courses. Also an enjoyable, calm
and safe lifestyle are unavoidable features of Australia. Since Australia is very well reputed for its
quality of education that is why I decided to gain an international degree provided by the Australian
government. While finalizing my destination I was also looking for the course which interested me
the most amongst others. Finally out of all the extensive courses, the course I chose to go ahead
with is Master in PROJECT MANAGEMENT.
About course Master of Management (Project Management):
Master of Management (Project Management) helps you become innovative, responsible &
communicative project manager. This program prepares you for job roles like IT Project Manager,
Marketing Project Manager, Engineering Project Manager & Supply Chain Project Manager. The
program covers engineering, management & marketing subjects which are essential for an
individual to become project manager in fields like IT, Engineering & Marketing.
The student needs to complete 16 subjects which contains total of 240 credit points. Postgraduate
course is 2 years long for an international student. Course structure for the program is as follows:
First Year:
• Introduction to Project Management
• Organizational Behaviour
• Project Management Techniques
• Statistics for Business & Finance
• Project Design for Quality
Second Year:
• Procurement and Supply Chain Management
• Project Management
• Project Leadership
• International Project Management
• Elective Subjects from diverse fields will help me explore future opportunities.
Therefore, this program will help to enhance my knowledge and accomplish my goal which later
help in future to get into my dream organization.
My career opportunities:
Project management opens opportunities in variety of fields like IT, Engineering & Marketing. This
program allows an individual to work in private and public sector.
In today's era IT & Engineering industries are in search of professional project managers to manage
resources, budgets & timelines for the organization.
Marketing sector is looking out for individuals who are very well aware of tools and technologies
required to implement client’s campaigns.
Future career plans:

The practical knowledge of your course structure will not only help to clear the subjects
understandings but it will also develop in me the require skills to execute it. And I am very much
sure that this phase of my life would enhance my knowledge and add value in future when I work
back in India for finest companies like TATA Consultancy, Mahindra, Piramal, IBM, Infosys etc.
This practical program experience will help me in future to handle project management jobs for
Indian companies.
Salary Range:

Manager in Mumbai, India varies between range of 10-15 Lac Indian rupees per annum which is
approximately 20,000-30,000 AUD.
About Student Visa Subclass 500:

With the Higher Education Sector Student Visa (subclass 500), can study and live in Australia for as
long as I enrolled in a course registered on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses
for Overseas Students (CRICOS). Should also maintain satisfactory attendance in course as
required by your education provider and make satisfactory curse progress for each study period and
also there are 6 major conditions,
80% Attendance should be maintained (Continuous Study)
Part time work should be 40 hours per fortnight.
Overseas Student Health Cover through stay in Australia
Maintain Eligibility (50% Pass Grade)
Notify accommodation address change.
Dependent Education.
