    Project Name:

    Online Book Selling System – ASP.Net (C#) + Oracle.

    Abstract:

    Proposed eOBSS – Online Book Selling System is a web portal to buy and sale of old and used
    books. This OBBS provide an easy way to sell, buy old books. If you have any books that you would
    like to sell, you can list them in the Sell section. Alternatively, if you wish to buy, you can search the
    Buy Books section. OBSS not handling any payment processing as most of the student dose not have
    credit card, we simply tie up with courier service for collecting books, delivery books and collecting
    money from the buyer. After selecting the book for bye and confirmation, courier person take care of
    movement of books from seller to buyer.

    Advantages

    • The OBSS that has been designed to provide a complete system to control and monitor buying
    and selling books online.
    • All books must be categorized for easy search, in home page latest and top 10 books must be
    displayed.
    • The buying and selling of books should be done without any online payment processing. For
    this we used payment on delivery concept. Where buyer gives the payment after taking the
    book from delivery person.

    Project Scope:

    • Buying and Selling of Books - Buying and Selling of books module is used to maintain
    member registration, book search, listing of books to sale, buy book, display order status.

    • Back Office and Administration Module. - This module will used by the back office user and
    system administrator to approve the book, member, update courier details, payment
    processing,

    Default Home Page, Member Login, My Account, Forget Password, Change Password,
    Member Registration, Edit Profile, View My listed Book, Buy Book, Sale Book, Track Your Order,
    Track Your Payment, Admin Login, Admin Main, Add Edit Users, Change Password, Approve
    Member, Approve Book, Create Courier List, Update Courier Tracking POD No, Payment
    Processing, Reports, etc.

    Software Requirements:

    • ASP.Net, C#

    • Oracle 9i or higher

    Hardware Requirements:

    Processor: Preferably 3.0 GHz or Greater.

    RAM : 1 GB or Greater.

    Limitations of the Software:

    This project was developed to fulfill user and business requirement; however there is lots of
    scope to improve the performance of the Online Book Selling System in the area of user interface,
    database performance, and query processing time. Etc.

    Future Enhancements:

    • SMS and Email alert for order notification.


    • Integration with other legacy accounting database through Web Service.
