I. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:
1. Identify and explain the Functions of a manager;
2. Evaluate the Roles of a manager and provide emphasis of its importance in an
organization;
3. Analyze the Skills that a manager should possess and identify their contribution to the
organization..

II. Subject Matter:

Sub Topic : Functions, Roles, Skills of a Manager

Materials : Visual Aid, Laptop & Projector, Cartolina, Calculator,
Chalk

III. Learning Tasks

A. Preparation
 Greeting
 Prayer
 Checking of attendance
 Reminders
 Collection of assignment

B. Recall
Conduct a quick review on the past lesson learned during the previous discussion which
talks about the various types of Management Theories. Prior knowledge of the past lesson
is a pre-requisite of the present topic as it helps the learners to better understand the new
topic..

C. Motivation
Raise a question before the class in such a way that the previous topic will.link to that of
the present topic.
 Cite a particular Management Theory and give its implication in business.
(Answer: Total Quality Management )

D. Lesson Proper

 Activity:
1. Role Playing. Divide the class into three (3). Assign each group to portray
topics such as:
Category A:
 Top Level Managers
 Middle Level Managers
 Frontline Managers
Category B:
 Function of the Manager
 Roles of the Manager
 Skills of the Manager
 Analysis:
1. Do you find any differences in the presentation? In the Managerial Levels,
what do you observe? What about the Functions, Roles & Skills?
2. Differentiate the different Managerial Levels.
3. Compare & Contrast the different functions of a Manager.

 Application:
Film Viewing - A video portraying the managerial functions in the organization.
Students will have the chance to express his/her opinion. It is a reflection on the video
presented to the class. Cite some areas in the video and reflect, based on the different
functions, roles and skills.

IV. Evaluation
In a 1 whole sheet of paper, make a recapitulation in one of the different functions,
roles and skills of a manager. Base your answer in the presentation made through the role
playing.

V. Assignment
In ½ sheet of paper, write the various elements of a firm’s environment.
