v You use “was” (“was”) instead of “am” (“am”) and “were” (“were”) instead of “are”
(are) when you want to refer to the past. This is called the “Past Tense” (“Past
Tense”).
v You use ”was not/wasnʼ’t” (”wasnʼ’t”) or ”were not/werenʼ’t” (”werenʼ’t”) when you
want to make a negative sentence in the Past tense.
v You use ”Was...?” (”Was...?”) or ”Were...?” (”Were..?”) when you want to make
an interrogative sentence in the Past tense.
