Project Manager: It is the person assigned to lead a team that is responsible for achieving the goals or objectives
of a project. The project manager may be influenced by the following aspects:
o The Project
o The Organization
o The Industry
o Professional Discipline
o Across Disciplines
The project Managers should have 3 main competences:
o Technical PM: The knowledge, skills, and behaviors related to specific areas of project, program or
portfolio management.
o Leadership: The knowledge, skills, and behaviors needed to guide, motivate and direct a team to each all
the business goals of an organization. We shouldn’t think that leadership means the same than
management, in fact, these two skills should work together in the development of a project.
o Strategic and Business Management: The knowledge and expertise in the industry and organization that
enhanced performance and better delivers business outcomes.
A project manager performs a very importatn role when we talk about itegration on the project, so Integrartion
is a crtical skill for project managers. Integration may occur in the three following areas:
o The process
o Cognitive
o Context Levels

Project Integration Management: Includes the processes and activities needed to identify, define, combine,
unify and coordinate various processes so they can work together.
Develop Project Charter: The process of developing a document that formally authorizes the existence of a
project and provide the project manager with the authority to apply organizational resources to project
activities
