1. WAKO GUTU FOUNDATION (WGF)-Ethiopia: Livelihood Enhancement for


Pastoralists and Agro-pastoralists (LEAP III) Project Senior Livelihoods Facilitator (duty
station-Addis Ababa).
This time I am mainly engaged with developing fund-seeking project proposals particularly on
disaster risk reduction, humanitarian and relief responses (caused by drought, conflict, etc.), and
community resilience-building, women economic empowerment.
2. Human Rights Council/HRCO, Ethiopia: European Union-Civil Society Fund II, Human
Right Education, Monitoring, Research and Legal Aid Project Deputy Programme Coordinator
(Addis Ababa, June 2/ 2014 to September 2017).
This time I have produced a training/education manuals, pocket handbook, supervised researches
of the organization by consultants that ranges from developing terms of reference, concept notes,
undertaking debriefing, arrange validation workshops, outsource publication houses, and
dissemination of findings, conduct awareness creation workshops, and production of training
as well as validation workshops reports, leading dialogue and panel discussion sessions , arrange
huge press conferences involving international diplomats and media organizations and produce the
conference reports, and more.
3. HUNDEE-OROMO GRASSROOTS DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE, Ethiopia:
CNFA USAID-AGP-LMD Agricultural Value Chain Project Monitoring, Evaluation, Reporting,
and Learning (MERL) officer (Addis Ababa, August 9/2013-June 2/2014).

Under this post, I was tasked with project field monitoring, develop implementation monitoring
tools, produce periodic project reports, monitoring reports, arrange and commissioning of national
multi- stakeholder platform workshops and produce the workshop reports, ensure the project’s
effective documentation, write project success stories and learning reports, produce workshop
reports, and more.
4. Federal Institute of Ombudsman, Ethiopia: Education, Research, and Training Directorate,

This time I was engaged with production of training manuals both in Amharic and English,

and Hygiene) Project Community Mobilization and Management Officer (senbete,

Under this integrated government and African development Bank Project manned by Tedla,
Haile-Kiros and Friends Consultants, I was tasked with fund mobilization from the community for
the construction of deep wells, opening current and saving account for the community
managed project, community mobilization to construct household level toilets, organize sanitation
and hygiene workshops, undertake Community WASH Planning, undertake supervision/oversight
of WASH facilities, produce periodic performance reports, WASH advocacy, and more.
7. Dewa Chefa woreda Women’s Affairs, Oromia Zone, Amhara Region: Planning
Expert (Kemisse,11/9/2005-9/10/2008).
As a planning professional, I had been tasked with producing sector’s action plan, monitor results
against objectives, compile reports periodically, participate and lead plan committee meetings,
deliver training on gender, project management, proposal development, and HIV/AIDS, and more.
8. Lalo-Mama Woreda Community Based Institution, North Shewa Zone, Amhara
Regional State:

This project is supported by Agri-Service Ethiopia Project Officer (Molale, 1/6/2005-8-1/2005).


As project officer, I had been engaged with monitoring and oversight of poultry projects, heifer,
horticulture models, and spring water at the village levels. Also, I was producing periodic progress
reports; monitoring reports, attend various workshops organized by the Agri-service Ethiopia.

Consultancy Achievements
1. SNV, Netherlands International Organization: Sustainable Sanitation Transformation
Project (SSTP) in Urban and peri-urban areas.
The assignment was to undertake a study on the Financial Viability of Pilot (Model) Biogas plants
installed by the SNV, Ethiopia (Netherlands International Organization).
Under this consultancy assignment I have been subcontracted by the successful bidder, Mekuria
Enviro-Friendly Consultancy firm and made visits the pilot projects of the aforementioned
organization in the Oromia, Southern Nations and Nationalities, and Tigrai regions of the
Country, and developed a full-fledged financial viability report. During the commissioning of this
research I also produced an inception report for the client organization (SNV), and also made key
informant as well as focus group interviews with the project partners in the aforementioned
regions. This assignment lasted from July 27 to September 19/2015.
2. Gurage Development Association (GDA): Local Level initiative for Climate Resilient Green
Economy (CRGE): Creating Carbon Sink while promoting clean and efficient energy utilization”
in Muhirna AKlil Woreda with the financial support of strategic climate institutions program
(SCIP).
Under this assignment, I had been outsourced by Mekuria Envir Friendly Consultancy firm
and developed an innovative winning technical and financial proposal and as a result the
consultant firm became successful winner of the bid in the competition; then after I developed an
inception report and methodological grid; primary data collection tools; and produced a raw data in
spss spread sheet and produced a full synthesis of survey data analysis in tabular and graphic
presentations. This assignment lasted from November 17 to December 2015.
3. Plan International Ethiopia (PIE): Baseline Assessment on Protection of Girls from
Child Marriage, Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), and Sexual Violence in Amhara Region
(Fagita Lekoma woreda), Oromia Region (Diksis and Guna Woredas), and in Southern Nations,
Nationalities and Peoples (SNNPR) (Bona Zuriya Woreda). This assignment lasted from
February to March 2016.
Under this assignment I had been outsourced by Connect Development Research and Training
PLC and developed a smart winning technical and financial proposal and as a result the
consultant firm won the bid. Then I Produced an inception report with the consulting firm, take
the whole lead as a research consultant to supervise and manage the community and school survey
conducted in the Oromia Regional State, Arsi Zone, Diksis Woreda. I submitted the whole survey
reports including focus groups, key informants and case stories with long playing videos. Then
after, I produced the whole methodological chapter of the findings report.
4. Netherlands International Organization (SNV)
I had been outsourced by MAE Consulting PLC to develop a bespoke technical and
financial proposal for undertaking a gender based horticulture value chain analysis
study (dubbed as “three year Horti-LIFE project”) that has been implemented by
Netherlands International Organization (SNV), Ethiopia in the Tigrai, Amhara,
Oromia, and SNNPR Regional States. To this end, the consulting firm was successful to
win the the proposal and accomplished the study, submitting the full study report to the
SNV office with full-blown evaluation.
5. World Vision-Ethiopia
I was outsourced by Development Studies Associates (DSA) Consulting PLC as a Proposal
Specialist, and developed a winning technical and financial proposal on the USAID/OFDA
funded project entitled as “Improving Humanitarian Response through Better
Coordination and Implementation of Cash Transfer Programming in Ethiopia” to conduct
GAP Analysis study/research to fine-tune future design and implementation of the Cash Transfer
Programmes in Hintalo-Wajirat woreda and Abiadi Woreda of the Tigray Region, Jille Timuga
woreda and Antsokiya Gemza woreda of the Amhara region, Alaba woreda and Borecha woreda of
the SNNP region, and Dire woreda and Yabello woreda of the Oromia Region. I have developed
the whole methodological grid, inception report and research instruments and approaches.
To this end, the project has been successful and secured an award by the World Vision Ethiopia
(lead of the consortium of the Ethiopian Cash Working Groups) to proceed and the study is
currently on-going.
6. CARE International-Ethiopia
I have been commissioned by Aha Psychological Services to develop sound business plan as part
of the feasibility study conducted on H&M Women for Women Project to start/establish Child
Day Care Centers (DCC).The DCC business project will be initially piloted /prototyped in Addis
Ababa at Arada Sub City (Woreda 5 and 10), Kirkos Sub City (Woreda 9 and 10) and Lideta Sub
City (Woreda 5 and 7).
The project is supported by CARE-Ethiopia funded by H&M Conscious Foundation through
CARE Netherland with local implementer, Mission for Community Development Program
(MCDP).
To this end, I developed Business Model Canvas (BMC) with nine business model
building blocks captured in a single diagram complemented by three years sales, profit
and loss forecast projections, break-even, and business development opportunity
potential schematized by diagrams.

Successful Business Proposals


1. Row Net Business Enterprise
I have been contracted by the Row Net Business Enterprise to develop a business (technical)
proposal that will serve the company to access Letter of Credit (LC) to export molasses from the
Ethiopian Sugar Corporation, Wonji Sugar Project, to an England based client, United Molasses
United, London. The successful LC will be assumed to serve the RowNet for consecutive two
years.
2. Row Net Business Enterprise
I have been subcontracted by Row Net Business Enterprise to develop a business proposal that
will serve the company to collect Opal and Tantalum mines from local Artisanal miners and then
export.
Performance within the Employer Organization
1. With an external consultant, I coached and assisted the development of Fundraising Strategy for
Human Rights Council (HRCO) in English
2. In 2009, HRCO hosted a national fundraising event at Dessalegn Hotel. I was one of the core team
members of the fundraisers and to this effect; I developed a bespoke fundraising proposal (in
English) with feasible technical and financial analysis that was become successful.
3. Recently, I develop a Financial Sustainability Plan and its transcended operational policies
(income policy, ethical policy, Reserve policy, and funds policy), and to this end I delivered a full
scale domestic and foreign fundraising training for staffs of the Human Rights Council (HRCO).
4. Training manual on Good Governance (in Amharic) for the Federal Institute of Ombudsman in

1. Water Supply, Sanitation, and Hygiene project training with financial support from African
Development Bank by Tedla, Haile-Kiros, and Friends Consultants that lasted from January 23 to
27 2009, DebreBerhan. The training covered the topics such as WASH objectives, Roles of
Stakeholders, Participatory planning, community project cycle, Sanitation and Hygiene, and
WASH Behavior Change Communication, WASH participatory tools, Women and WASH
management, Community WASH plan, WASH communication tools, Report writing, HIV/AIDS,
and more.
2. Water Supply, Sanitation, and Hygiene project training with financial support from African
Development Bank by Tedla, Haile-Kiros, and Friends Consultants that lasted from April27 to
May 1 2009, DebreBerhan. The training covered the topics such as Capital Contribution, Gender
Mainstreaming, Preparing for operation and maintenance, money management, contracting and
procurement, community ownership and management, etc.
3. Training on Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation of the Good Governance Process by the RECH
Management Centre based at UK, London. The themes under this training included logical
framework, planning and evaluation tools, methodologies, types and
approaches, indicators development and types, M&E frameworks, planning models, and more. The
training lasted from 23rd to 27th May 2011, Bishoftu
4. Training on the Project Cycle Management, Fund Raising, and Human Rights and Rule of Law by
M.A.E Consulting PLC, Bishoftu. The training lasted from July 25-July
28/2014.
5. Training on the Social Research Methodology, Qualitative Research Software (NVIVO,
