The chapter deals with the the analysis and interpretation of the data and
information collected by the research sample of Grade Twelve at the Jasaan Senior
High School the survey questionnaire were the main tools that used to collect data
from the respondents.
This is show the age distribution of the respondents. All the respondents aged
between 17 years old of age to 2o years old above out of 40 respondents. The
researcher find out that this age group were the appropriate group to study the
influences of dealing social media in their academic life.

It is shows about how student using any social media platforms have a big help to
there study. Its seen from the chart that Fourth-eight per cent of the students are
Agree with Twenty-Three percent Strongly Agree that it is a big factor of helping on
their study by the social media. Twenty-three per cent Neutral. On the other hand
there are both five percent are disagree and strongly disagree. The researcher
however, conclude social media has the ability to helps the students improve their
studies through information and the knowledge that have been by the social media.

The research found that Forth% of the respondent agree with a 20% percent strongly
agree that social media helps them to widen their knowledge. There are Twenty-
eight percent are neutral and having small number of five percent disagree and eight
percent strongly disagree. Therefore the research conclude that social media has a
positive effect in terms to widen their knowledge in terms of learning with the
information given by the social media.

percent followed by Agree with thirty- three percent. This is shows that students
have a number of they prioritize to spend time using social media than studying.

In this chart it is shows if the respondents are affecting their study timing. It is
surprising to see that fourth percent of the respondent are Agree and eight percent
are strongly agree. Thirty-three percent are in the neutral side and having only a
thirteen percent disagree and less number of strongly disagree with a eight percent.
This shows that using social media has disturb the study timing of the students to
learn and having a possibility to affect their academic performance.

According to the data collected from the respondents both thirty- three percents are
strongly agree and in the neutral side. And both fifteen percent are strongly agree
and disagree. It shows that social media can affect the sleeping timing of the
students were its the one of the main reason affecting there academic performances.

that they are prefer to express their feelings and ideas in social networking sites.
While thirty-five percent are in the neutral side. On the other hand there are only
thirteen percent Disagree and eight percent disagree. It is shows that students are
engaged of dealing with it.
Finding And Recommendation
This discussion mainly focuses on the effect of social media on the academic
performance of the students. The researcher bring out some of the major findings
and to discuss the relevance of this findings on the student of Jasaan Senior High
School.
Must they prioritize to spend time using social media than studying 40% are agree
with it. The researcher conclude that respondents are more interested in the non-
academic sites which can entertain them or which can connect with friends or
chatting and 38% are prefer to expressing their feeling and ideas which its proved
that it cant be cause out of focus to the them and unlimited of spending time that
can affect their study timing which it seen in the chart which have 40% of the
respondents agree of it and social media can resulted in lowering grades among
students.
But many of the respondents are feel that social media improve their academic
performance with a combined 71 percentages of the respondents who are strongly
agree and agree that it is big factor helping them on their study of any social media
platform on their study and having a positive effect on their academic performances.
It is very helpful in educational life to them and it can perform much better in their
studies in through the benefits instead of learning.
Recommendation
1. Student must minimize the time they spend on social media to avoid being
stick with it, there should be also educated on the influence of social media
on the academic performance.
2. The use of social media by the students should focus on the academic
relevance of those sites instead of using them for negative purposes.
3. Social media has become part of the students life it will be wrong to suggest
them not to use it, what is important is to guide them on how to use it in
constructive way.
4. The teachers should be help the students on how to make used of social media
and also tell them the advantages and this disadvantages of social media so
that they can be aware of what to do and what not to do.
5. The importance of social media should be known by both the teachers and the
students to make teaching and learning more effective and for those both
have a strong role to play in engaging in social media sites.
6. Teacher should ensure they use social media as a tool to improve the academic
performance of the students in the school.
7. Student should be responsible enough of what it will be posted in social media.
8. Student should be valued the of spending time studying and using of it.
