The term computer is derived from the Latin term ‘computare’, this means
to calculate or programmable machine. Computer can't do anything
without a Program. It represents the decimal numbers through a string of
binary digits. The Word 'Computer' usually refers to the Center Processor
Unit plus Internal memory.

Types Of Computer
∙ Analouge computer
∙ Digital computer
∙ Hybrid computer

Analouge :
An analog computer is a computer which is used to process analog data.
Analog computers store data in a continuous form of physical quantities
and perform calculations with the help of measures.

Digital :
The definition of a digital computer is the most commonly used type of
computer and is used to process information with quantities using digits,
usually using the binary number system.

Hybrid :
A computer that features the best characteristics of the analog computer
and digital computer.

Programming Concept :
∙ Program

Examples of hardware in a computer are the keyboard, the monitor, the
mouse and the central processing unit.

Software :
Software is a collection of instructions that enable the user to interact with
a computer, its hardware, or perform tasks. Without software, most
computers would be useless. Examples of software is VLC , Chrome,
MS-Windows , Unix etc.

Types Of Software :
∙ Application Software
∙ System Software

Application Software :
Application software is specific to the task it is designed for and can be as
simple as a calculator application or as complex as a word processing
application. Examples; Anti-virus, VLC, Chrome etc.

System Software :
It is a base for application software which responsible for managing
hardware.

System software is a intermediator between user and hardware. system

software is also known as Operating System. Examples ; MS-Windows,
