SCHOOL REPORT
I deem it as a pleasure and honour to welcome the august gathering, comprising of

our praise worthy parents, adorable students, distinguished gathering, on this
auspicious occasion. I am privileged to present a comprehensive School Report.
There is a cause to celebrate this gala fest i.e. Silver Jubilee Celebrations of our
school, a journey so long and so fulfilling. August 21st 1986 is a Gold plated day,
as on this fossilized day, the seed of DAV was sworn in Wadi which germinated
swiftly gaining momentum and spreading the academic aroma in and around
Gulbarga District for a span of 25 years.
The school has its humble beginning with a petty number of 9 staff members and
136 students, which has zoomed to 37 staff members and school strength
scaled to 1161 as on date. Our school has won the appreciation, of many
dignitaries and today it competes with the best and elite schools. At the onset, I
convey my heartfelt applause to my predecessors, who have left no stone
untouched to escalate the school to the zenith.
The beauty of short history of our school is a history of achievements which owes
a lot to the DAV Management and its stalwarts Swami Dayanand Saraswati &
Mahatma Hansraj.
DAV College Trust and Management Society established in the year 1885 is
the largest non-govt. Educational Organisation in India. The main objective of
DAV institutions is to create conducive atmosphere, to develop the children
mentally, physically and spiritually. This education helps to imbibe them a sense
of patriotism and pride in their ancient culture and civilization and instills in them
a disciplined outlook, deeply dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge.
True appreciation is rendered to ACC Management and its task force who have
extended optimum support for reaching this golden milestone. This exhilarating
journey was feasible only with patronage of ACC Ltd. Wadi, which is renowned as
the largest Cement Factory in Asia. We are indeed making steady strides under the
able stewardship of ACC which has fruitfully completed its Platinum Jubilee
Celebrations.

We are glad that under the tutelage of Dr. S B Singh [Director Plant ACC
Wadi], Chairman LMC with his benevolent support and surveillance we have
gathered fresh momentum. His unceasing and relentless efforts for the cause of
education will always yield rich dividends.
Shri B D Daler ji SR. GM[HR], ACC Wadi and LMC member with his serenity
and acceleration has revived our strength.
Smt. Seetha Kiran ji, Regional Director, NATIONAL AWARD RECEIPENT,

has kindled the luminous DAV tradition of excellence in South. She has fostered
and ignited the young minds, with her 3Ps POSITIVE, PASSIONATE &
PROACTIVE. With her dynamic versatility, she increased the graph of schools
in South Zone from 14 to 41. This proves her distinction in conquering new
frontiers. Her extension of tenure as Regional Director for another 3 years has
added a tinge of vibrancy to the DAV Institutions.
In these 25 yrs, our school had remarkable credentials. It could be voluminous if

achievement feat of our students is recorded spanning these achieving years. The
top notch is AMMARA FARZEEN who has represented our country at SEOUL in
SOUTH KOREA. She has presented her views at the international Science Camp
on Global Climate changes and was in lime light for her achievement. She was
guided by Ms. Ratna Kumari, Mr. Gopal Krishna & team of faculty.
Academic excellence is the touchstone of an educational institution. This was

proved by CBSE results, securing 100% in Board Exams in the past years. A total
of 49 students in class X 2011–12 appeared for board examination out of which
19 students scored A1, 16 - A2, 8 - B1, & 6 - B2. with a CGPA of 8.6.
9 of our students, Pankaj Singh, Rajath Krishna, Vaishnovi Sutrawe, A N S

Akhila, and Kshitij Malhotra, Mohammed Shoiab, Swetha, Pooja
Bhattcharjee, Siddharth P Anwar achieved CGPA 10.
Similarly in class XII 22 students appeared for Board Exam out of which 9
students obtained distinctions, 12 – I class & 1 – II Class with a school average of
72.8%. Kumari Aishwarya T P of class XII attained 89.9% and proved her
mettle. I am exalted to mention that this year’s class X & XII has surpassed all
the Board results right from its inception.
I congratulate and applaud my team of dedicated, experienced and talented

teachers who are the harbingers of knowledge for this bounty achievement. Words
are insufficient to express my appreciation for their strenuous efforts. The school
metamorphosed to reputed institution only due to the meticulous commitment of
our teachers.

I am happy to make a note known that Mrs. Ratna Kumari second-in-command &
Mr. Vasanth Kumar senior UDC, a ministerial staff have completed 25 years of
efficacious service, playing a vibrant role model to the rest of the staff.
Our school is second to none in honing the skills and aiming at the holistic
development of the child for sustainable growth. The shift of approach in CCE
from Exam centric to Child centric and from marking system to grading
system has brought a tremendous change in the scenario of education.
Ethical, social attitudes and values, personality development, communication

skills, emotional skills are given prime importance, not only to ride the crest but
guard against any trough. We aim to develop students into global citizens with
global outlook empowering them, with a new perspective to human resource
development.
The collaborative and synchronized conglomeration of parent and teacher

community can only visualize the DAVians as future torch bearers of our country,
like Atal Bihari Vajpayee, I K Gujaral, Dr. Manmohan Singh, Mahendra Singh
Dhoni, Yuvraj, Kalpana Chawla, Sharuk Khan etc. who are DAV alumni.
Our students zealously participate in all the competitions i.e. in English Elocution,
debate, quiz, seminars, dramas, dances, etc. conducted by renowned organizations
and clinch the cream positions.
In Mahatma Hansraj Cultural & Literary meet (South Zone) – 2011 our students
proved their oratory skills in Declamation in Hindi & English. Shamita Jain of
class VI secured the first position in English Declamation. Khushbu singh of class
X clinched the second position in Hindi Declamation. Aishwarya Sutrawe of class
XI & A N S Akhila of class X bagged the first position in Hindi Debate. Deepshika
Das of class XI also proved her caliber in Art by wrapping the top spot in
Designing Greeting card.
Sports and physical fitness occupy a place of importance in our curriculum not
only because they ensure healthy living but also for the positive values that can be
instilled in our impressionable learners.
Master APOORVA PATWARDHAN was adjudged as Best Player in Cluster

CBSE Volley Ball Meet 2011. And the team was declared as Volley Ball
champions representing at the National Level. Our school has also been acclaimed
as Deccan Devils in Tennis Tournament.

Our enterprising alumni have made an impressive and delible mark in the society
as Doctors, Engineers, Defence Services, journalists, Banking, etc. Most of them
are well placed in ACC, ISRO, WIPRO, INFOSYS, IOC, IBM, MAHENDRA
SATYAM, DELL, HP, HCL, etc, and some of them are well settled abroad
proving that they are BRAND AMBASSADORS of DAV in terms of life &
brilliance.
I am happy to recall that ACC has sponsored career counseling programme for
class X, XI & XII students to ease them and choose their career by choice and not
by chance.
A 3 day program on Training of Trainers (TOT) organized by ACC for Safe and
healthy Students has instilled the students and parents to give prior importance to
health and cleanliness. We are also thankful to ACC Management for extending
Medical checkup to all the teachers.
To empower the teachers with paradigm shift in CCE reforms “Capacity

Building of Teachers” a two day training programme conducted, was monitored
by CBSE and piloted by S Chand & Company Ltd.
Pooled participation of Teachers at DAVIIER In-service tele-conference has

stimulated the minds and aptitude of the teachers, enabling them to enhance the
quality of teaching in all spheres.
Recently a workshop on Preparing Schools for Accreditation by NIIT - Eguru

was conducted for PRINCIPALS at Safilguda, Hyderabad. Now, it is mandatory
for all CBSE schools to go for Accreditation to gauge the standard of the school.
It is needless to say that the Interactive Class Room [ICR] Boards prune
children’s knowledge amalgamated with our ICT which is IT-Exelerate and we
are also planning to acquaint and attach you all to gloom clouding which is an
information boom to the learners.
Never can we forget the cascading and unprecedented cooperation extended by our
parents and well wishers who patronize in every venture of ours. We will kindle
the conscience and the consciousness of the children to channelize their talent and
help them bloom, disseminating the fragrance far and wide.

We are indebted to the office heads of all the departments of ACC & its Parivar,
who have been helping us in every step of our achievement. I would like to

our progress.
We are thankful to NIIT for preparing this eye catching Silver Jubilee banner of
ours.
Last but not the least I thank the Class IV who are obliging and help us in
beautifying our ambience
